Steve Bannon told 60 Minutes that if Gary Cohn was going to break with the President over Charlottesville, he should have resigned.
“If you’re going to break with him resign. The stuff that was leaked out that week by certain members of the White House, I thought that was unacceptable,” Bannon told CBS anchor Charlie Rose in an interview.
Bannon was talking about all the White House employees who abandoned the President over Charlottesville.
He is absolutely correct. If they don’t support Trump and trust him, why are they there?
“I’m obviously talking about Gary Cohn and some other people,” Bannon said. “If you don’t like what he’s doing and you don’t agree with it, you have an obligation to resign.”
Why would Cohn resign, we ask? This is the most power and influence he will ever have. He wants to be disloyal and stay in his lofty role.
Gary Cohn complained about Trump’s response on-the-record and associates revealed to the New York Times that he had even drafted a resignation letter. The Javankas urged him to take a “moderate stance”, but he didn’t.
Bannon said Trump was supporting the First Amendment when he spoke of Charlottesville.

Cohn was awful, beyond awful
Cohn even complimented the Antifa and BLM which was totally unnecessary.
“Citizens standing up for equality and freedom can never be equated with white supremacists, neo-Nazis and the KKK,” Cohn said, referencing the Antifa and BLM groups who went to the ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Charlottesville to silence the Nazis and KKK by any means necessary.
Cohn wouldn’t stick up for the President but felt comfortable calling Antifa and BLM “citizens standing up for equality and freedom.”
Look at what Paul Ryan did, he ran a CNN town hall at the same time the President was speaking. Ryan described Antifa thugs hurling urine and racial epithets at cops as “peaceful protests against the hate.”
McConnell didn’t stand up for him either. Now they are getting it in spades as the President beats them to the draw and makes deals with Democrats that they were going to do anyway.
