On October 18th, Barack Obama declared National Character Counts Week. It would be great if he acted as if he meant any of it.
Check out the following excerpt:
As Americans, we are bound together by a set of ideals put forth by our Founders — that we are all created equal, that we possess certain unalienable rights, including the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and that, above all, we are one people. During National Character Counts Week, we reflect on the ways we support one another, the ways we come together and seek common ground, and the lessons we teach our children about what citizenship means in the United States of America.
Nowhere is our Nation’s strength more evident than in the men and women in uniform who embody the American spirit of selflessness, courage, and sacrifice…
The most divisive president in our history, who insults and threatens half the populace, refers to us as one people. The man who wants to limit our free speech and take away our 2nd, 4th, 10th et al Amendments, talks of liberty.
The man who won’t negotiate, wants us to find common ground and support one another.
Best of all, the man has the unmitigated gall to talk about the military as if he cared after closing their open air memorials to make cheap political points. Any other president who shut down military open air memorials would have been dead in the water but Barack has the media – the once free press – and he can say or do anything unscathed.
Obama is a living contradiction. What you see is a facade – an empty chair of a man. Don’t listen to what he says, look at what he does.
