Susan Rice

Susan Rice misled the American people five days after the attack on our Benghazi consulate during her appearances on five Sunday News Shows. She was the Ambassador to the UN at the time. She is now elevated to the position of National Security Adviser, in part, presumably, for her loyalty and her actions during the Benghazi affair.

Susan Rice in an appearance on Meet the Press with David Gregory Sunday said, during a softball interview, that claims she was dishonest in her infamous appearances on the five Sunday news shows are “patently false” and she has no regrets.

She appeared on the shows on September 15, 2012, days after the 9/11 attack on our Benghazi consulate and related a misleading account of the causes leading up to the attack which she did not describe as the work of radical Islamic terrorists.

She shared the best information at the time and it’s the information made available to her by the intelligence community, she told Gregory.  Some of the information wasn’t 100% correct, she acknowledged, but she added that the notion she misled anyone is “patently false”. That has been amply demonstrated, she continued.

Rice, if you remember, claimed that the attacks were unorganized and inspired by an anti-Islamic Youtube video created by an Egyptian-American — information later proven false.

She has no regrets she told Gregory. “Because what I said to you that morning and what I did every day since was to share the best information that we had at the time.”

“The information I provided — which I explained to you was what we had at the moment, it could change; I commented that this was based on what we knew on that morning — was provided to me, and my colleagues and indeed to Congress by the intelligence community,” she explained, “and that’s been well validated in many different ways since.”

“And that information turned out in some respects not to be 100 percent correct,” Rice conceded, “but the notion that somehow I or anybody else in the administration misled the American people is patently false, and I think that that’s been amply demonstrated.”

Even if all that were true, though it strains credulity to believe it is, why is she continuing to mislead?

Who would believe anything she says, really? It’s not worth listening to her on any issue.

We now know that within minutes, the administration knew the attack on the consulate was a terror attack.

Rice is parsing her words and being disingenuous by saying the information was provided to her by the intelligence community.  She’s simply lying when she says it’s been well validated. She said it wasn’t 100% correct, putting a smiley face on a blatant lie. She deceived the American public 100%.

The day before Susan Rice appeared on the Sunday Talk Shows, Hillary Clinton’s gatekeeper and the CIA Director at the time, Michael Morell changed the Talking Points. He took out references to Islamic and he left the references to the video protest that never was. He knew the day before Rice’s appearance that there was no video protest.

On September 15, 2012, the day before Susan Rice was to appear on the five Sunday News shows, Morell received a ‘critical email’ according to a Senate Intelligence Committee report just recently released. The email read that the attack in Benghazi was ‘not, not’ the result of an escalation of protests over a video. The email came from a senior intelligence officer at the CIA station in Libya.

On the same day that the email was received, Morell significantly altered the Talking Points. He took out references to Islamist and left in the references to the ‘video protest’ that never was, knowing full-well there was no video protest, there was an Islamic terrorist attack. As an aside, Morell, while under oath in a hearing before Congress, originally denied changing the Talking Points. The Administration set up a network of liars.

On September 16, the day Susan Rice appeared on the shows, Morell asked for information about the email from the CIA in Libya.

Susan Rice had to have known the truth. She was deliberately chosen as the spokesperson to put some distance between the event and Hillary Clinton. The entire cover up was to protect Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Susan Rice was complicit in this unless you want to take the tack that she blindly reads from notes and questions nothing. In which case, she is still not qualified for any job in any U.S. Administration.
