Tell Me Who to Vote For: Trump’s Many Faces

Please don’t misunderstand this article. I’m not trying to persuade anyone one way or the other and I’m not trying to insult Donald Trump. I have no idea who I am voting for other than I will not vote for a RINO. I need people to tell me where I’m going wrong in this following summary of Trump. He’s the leading candidate and the issues must be discussed honestly. Tell me why I need to vote for Trump or not.

Donald Trump has a long history as a Democrat, ripping into the Bush administration, praising and donating to the Clintons, supporting universal healthcare without clearly explaining what he will do, and he will raise taxes on the wealthy. Trump will allow the government to keep the massive amounts of land and not return it to the states to be sold off as he recently told Peter’s Hunting in an interview.

On the other hand, he says he is now a conservative and has evolved on the issues. He will repeal and replace Obamacare with universal healthcare, he will abolish the federal government’s role in funding Common Core, he will adopt a foreign policy that is similar to Obama’s but will annihilate ISIS, he will build a wall and institute touchback amnesty.  He might shut down immigration of Muslims until we know “what the H… we’re doing.”

He says he will cut the Defense Department, the Department of Education, and the entire EPA. He will defund Planned Parenthood. Inversions will be history, used the increasing debt ceiling as a bargaining chip, will make the economy dynamic. Trump supports the police and tough sentencing. While acknowledging some climate change could be manmade, he does not support Cap and Trade.

He is very strong on the Second Amendment and would get rid of the gun free zones. If legal, he would get rid of them in schools – if he can he will override the states. Constitutionally, he can’t.

He believes in a strong family.

Watch him speak about his views up until 2007.

He also said he will make better deals with countries like Iran though he has not said he will cancel the current deal and he will make better trade deals. Details are not clear. Trump has made it clear he will make deals with the Democrats and make America great again. He can work with Pelosi, Reid, Schumer and whoever. One of the reasons conservatives are angry with the establishment is they make deals with the leftists and aren’t showing they stand up for limited government, liberty, and the constitution. He said he will negotiate until he makes America great again.

His business acumen is unquestionable though he has made use of laws such as bankruptcy and Eminent Domain.

On another positive note, he is not PC – praise God. However, he’s also lowered the level of political discourse. A woman at one of his events called Cruz a “pussy”. He cutely remarked that she must never say that while repeating it with a wink and a nod.

All in all, Trump has switched parties multiple times and has been a member of the Republican Party, the Independence Party, the Democratic Party, was a candidate with the Reform Party, and now back to the Republican Party.

According to voting records from the state of New York, Trump failed to vote in the last two presidential primaries.

Newsmax reported the following which I have verified through multiple sources.

From 1989-2011 Trump donated $581,350 to 23 different Democratic candidates in state and federal races, including Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid. In 2010 Trump donated $50,000 to Chicago’s Democrat Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a close aide of President Obama.

Trump’s donations to GOP candidates include many liberal Republicans such as former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and U.S. Sen. Arlen Spector.

After missing the primary election in 2012, Trump tweeted after the general election, “I always vote for the winners. Congratulations to My Friend @BarackObama.” He did not, however, vote in that election.

On September 19, 2015, a conservative blogger broke the news that Trump deleted the tweet about voting for Barack Obama, but that he had captured an earlier screen shot of the tweet.

Trump will put the RINOS in their place and hopefully the Democrats. What do you think? I need opinions.

  1. All comments based on the assumption that he will do what he can
(insofar as Presidents can set an agenda).

“He will repeal and replace Obamacare with universal healthcare”
NO. He will eliminate the state limitations to insurance companies, so A) it gets MUCH more competitive and thereby cheaper, B) people can carry their policies from state to state. FREE MARKET DECIDES. His reference to “taking care of people” is to the bums out on the street/poor who otherwise would, well, die.

“He will abolish the federal government’s role in funding Common Core”
He will abolish Common Core, period…and return responsibility of education back to the states where it properly belongs.

“He will adopt a foreign policy that is similar to Obama’s”
WHAT A CROCK. Where’d THAT come from?!?

    “…but will annihilate ISIS”
If ANY of the candidates has the will to do it, IT’S TRUMP.

“He will build a wall and institute touchback amnesty.”
The wall? Well, YES! But as for the rest…again, HORSEHOCKEY. Those who aren’t PERMANENTLY EXPELLED (that last word being the operative one), *may* apply for legal entry and go to the back of the line.

“He might shut down immigration of Muslims until we know “what the H… we’re doing.”
    MIGHT?!? Oh, puh-LEASE!

“He says he will cut the Defense Department, the Department of Education, and the entire EPA. He will defund Planned Parenthood.”
Agree with all EXCEPT FOR DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, about which he has said he wants to build it up to be the strongest. Perhaps you are referring to his talk about reducing Ye Olde “fraud, waste and abuse” there…I doubt you’re against THAT idea!

    • Well stated. The fact that he is self-funding and therefore not beholden to super pacs, wall street or global corporations also speaks loudly to his motivation for running.

  2. Sara,
You know what a big fan I am and how much I admire your work. I’ve been watching you struggle with this issue for weeks now and I have to say that I have too. But I have finally reached the point where I understand that there is only one person who is capable of bringing our beloved country back from the brink.

Short version… I have been skeptical about Cruz for quite some time, but his treatment of Carson was the final straw for me. Trump doesn’t have the rock-solid conservative background I had hoped for – but he is the only one who is willing to buck the left, the GOPe, and the corrupt MSM. He refuses to be PC, he has been bold and fearless, and he has taken the offensive position – and refuses to back down or go on defense.

He is championing virtually every issue that is important to the majority of Americans – I hope and pray that he is sincere and trustworthy in his promises – but the more I listen to him – the more I believe that he is. I have to go with my gut on this and I hadn’t decided until yesterday – so I feel I’ve been cautious in my decision and I’m hoping my post can also help you to make yours.

Thank you for your time Sara,
