“The pendulum is starting to swing. America run by progressives. Really. It’s about to happen. So we’re going to be looking for people who share our values,” Eric Holder at Yale Law School Conference, “The Constitution in 2020”
After years of socialism being forced into our constitution by the courts who legislate from the bench, the Socialistas now feel it’s time to introduce a Socialist/Progressive Constitution.
The Alinsky-style totalitarians gradually introduce the ideas Americans would normally find repugnant until they become so repetitive that people are no longer repulsed, paving the way for the “fundamental transformation” of our country.
Soros, Holder, Podesta, Sunstein, Obama et al are conspiring to rewrite the Constitution and the Bill of Rights into the Progressive Marxist vision. When are Americans going to become concerned about their loss of freedom? What will it take? The Socialistas pretend they are for democracy but they are for collectivism and government control.
Apparently, a 2005 conference kicked the movement off. It was sponsored by Soros’ Open Society and Podesta’s Center for American Progress at Yale Law School. Also involved in the development of the conference was the ACS, an anti-Federalist group.
Jeffrey Rosen, a law professor at George Washington University, wrote in a 2009 New York Times Magazine piece about so-called liberal justice: “If this new understanding of legal liberalism can be traced back to a single moment, it was in April 2005, when the American Constitution Society and other progressive groups sponsored a conference at Yale Law School called ‘The Constitution in 2020.’”
The purpose of the conference was to reformulate the constitution and Bill of Rights in accordance with the Progressive (Marxist – Socialist) vision. Read here: Aaron Klein – connecting the dots
Czar Sunstein explains what a Progressive (Socialist-Marxist) Bill of Rights would look like.
Sunstein had his vision prior to 2005 and warned that it must not reflect the extreme right wing of the Republican Party. Unfortunately, Sunstein thinks all Republicans are extreme right wing.
Sunstein wants people to have a constitutional right to “useful jobs” in farms and industries. [This would require nationalization of farms and industries.] He wants the government to prevent “unfair competition.” Their idea of unfair competition is any competition except that which is granted by the government.
In Sunstein’s book of 2004, “The Second Bill of Rights: FDR’S Unfinished Revolution and Why We Need It More than Ever,” he saw his imperatives as constitutive commitments.
His book mandates that these commitments must include –
- The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation; [requires Chavez-style nationalization of industries and farms]
- The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation; [Are vacations a right? It’s worked so well in Europe.]
- The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return that will give him and his family a decent living; [To be decided and distributed by the government.]
- The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad; [The government will decide.]
- The right of every family to a decent home; [A home is a right.]
- The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health; [The government will decide your healthcare, every last bit of it.]
- The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident and unemployment; [This takes in every aspect of one’s life and the government will decide.]
- The right to a good education. [The government is in charge of that now and we see how that has gone.]
Soros’ Open Society website has the books Keeping Faith with the Constitution and The Constitution of 2020 in their bookstore.
Keeping Faith is geared towards social justice and a fluid constitution.
The Constitution in 2020 is a powerful blueprint for implementing a more progressive vision of constitutional law in the years ahead. Socialista Sunstein is one of the editors. The Constitution in 2020 calls on liberals to articulate their constitutional vision in a way that can command the confidence of ordinary Americans.
Do you remember when Nancy Pelosi stated she was afraid of people who read the Federalist Papers? Do you remember when Janet Napolitano listed people who read The Federalist Papers as possible terrorists? They are members of the far left who have no interest in continuing the constitutional foundation of our government.
The NY Times yesterday, in an article entitled, We the people loses appeal with people around the world, said this, “But the Constitution is out of step with the rest of the world in failing to protect, at least in so many words, a right to travel, the presumption of innocence and entitlement to food, education and health care.” They go on to talk about studies being done that will show the constitution is terse and old and guarantees few freedoms. They also denigrate ours as inferior and causing us to lose credibility in the world.
The Times article is setting us up but it’s also seditionist propaganda.
In the following video, ACS/Yale, know-it-all, blowhards explain why we need to get rid of our “old” constitution. They claim there is no way to update it through amendments, giving examples that are irrelevant. The term “Democratic Constitutionalism” is described and defines “democratic” as self-ownership and “constitutionalism” as fixing politics. In other words, our constitution cannot live side-by-side with democracy in its present form. In this video, they talk freely about legislating from the bench. These anti-constitutionalists manipulate anything and everything to come to the false conclusion that we must rewrite the constitution.
Freedom of speech is going to depend on technology according to these experts. All our freedoms will be subject to their judgment while they pretend it’s what the people want. There will always be a good excuse to steal our freedoms – whether it be racial injustice, poverty, technology, choice, health.
Remember then Senator Obama talking about the flawed constitution?
