To hear Democrats talk, you’d think that every Republican in the country is a multimillionaire and every Democrat is a street-walking pauper. So just how do they rank inside the Beltway?
Here’s the “top ten list”, as published by CNN Money. You can click on that link and review the top 50 richest members of congress.
|Rep. Michael McCaul||$290.5 million||R-Texas|
|Sen. John Kerry||$198.8 million||D-Mass.|
|Rep. Darrell Issa||$140.6 million||R-Calif.|
|Rep. Jared Polis||$91.1 million||D-Colo.|
|Sen. Mark Warner||$85.9 million||D-Va.|
|Sen. Jay Rockefeller||$83.1 million||D-W.Va.|
|Sen. Richard Blumenthal||$80.1 million||D-Conn.|
|Sen. Frank Lautenberg||$56.9 million||D-N.J.|
|Sen. Dianne Feinstein||$47.2 million||D-Calif.|
|Rep. Jim Renacci||$36.7 million||R-Ohio|
Well, imagine that! Seven of the ten richest congresscritters are Democrats. And there’s one very suspicious member of congress shown at #16, one Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca). From numerous reports, Pelosi should be ranked in at least the top five, with reported wealth and holdings in excess of $100 million dollars. How she manages to appear at #16, with wealth reportedly at only $26.4 million has many baffled.
Next time you hear a Democrat speaking of “those rich Republicans and their ilk”, just laugh and show them this list.
Oh, and Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI), didn’t even make the list. Ryan’s net worth was listed as $2.2 million dollars.
Now review that list and break it down so that the richest members of the United States Senate are revealed.
Here you’ll find:
1) Senator John Kerry (D-MA), 2) Senator Mark Warner (D-Va), 3) Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WVA), 4) Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), 5) Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), and 6) Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) – all Democrats – occupying the top six positions!
Rather telling, don’t you think?
