One of the three men charged with disorderly conduct
Three men were demonstrating in support of Texas’ open carry law at a San Antonio Starbucks with unloaded rifles and in full compliance with the law when they were arrested for doing nothing wrong, because of a loophole.
A passerby didn’t like it and complained to police, not because the men were threatening anyone, but because she found the whole idea threatening.
The police asked them to leave and when they wouldn’t, the men for issued a non-custodial arrest order. They were charged with a crime!
The case is ongoing and it’s now a matter of disorderly conduct.
What they did is not against the law, but if anyone says they feel threatened, an arrest can be made. The intent of the law is for an actual threat not because someone doesn’t like the idea.
The 23-minute video was posted the YouTube on Aug. 24. It shows the three men sitting outside a San Antonio Starbucks displaying rifles. Several passersby stop and talk to the men. At least one woman stops to take video on her cell phone.
What do you think about this? It’s hard for me to be objective since we have almost no Second Amendment rights in New York. We can’t even shoot homee invaders unless they are facing us and we’ve warned them first. They can sue us if they get hurt and sometimes they even win.
