Three-year old Alexis Martin began reciting her bedtime stories verbatim when she was 12-months old. These were 20-25 page books her mother said. By the time she was 2, she could read fluently. She now reads on a fifth grade level, can memorize bedtime stories in a flash, and taught herself Spanish from her mother’s iPad app. She has been accepted into Mensa and is their youngest member with an untestable IQ over 160.
Deciding what school to put her in is the next problem the parents have to consider. It’s unlikely she will be able to go to a normal school. She is only three and the social/emotional growth will be different from her intellectual skills and that will require special attention.
