Oh joy, air travel is about to get a whole lot more expensive.
Airport screeners have ratified their first collective bargaining agreement, giving them a say in what they wear, shifts they work, time they take off, and whether they can switch back-and-forth between part-time and full-time work.
The American Federation of Government Employees union now represents the TSA. Unionizing other federal employees is on the horizon. Federal workers have just asked for a raise despite the fact that they are paid a third more than the rest of the population.
I worked for an airline. We were well-paid, had good benefits, and we didn’t have to establish a socialist organization. This really wasn’t necessary and it will add to our unsustainable pension liabilities. It’s the socialist way.
