Boston Globe is reporting that investigators are making progress toward charging Aaron Hernandez with the shooting deaths of Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu on July 16, 2012.
Prosecutors are preparing to present their findings to a Suffolk County grand jury. They appear to have tracked down and impounded a rental van that has been linked to the shootings.
There were survivors of the shootings, one of whom was able to identify the van.
The prosecution says they have witnesses.
The hearing has been delayed until August 12th. The prosecution appears to be in no hurry since Hernandez is safely behind bars.
The two murdered men were gunned down at a light after allegedly having a fight with Hernandez in a local bar. It is believed that Odin Lloyd, allegedly murdered by Hernandez on June 17th of this year, might have known about the shootings and told others about it.
