The Pledge of Allegiance has become passe in an “untold number” of California classrooms. That is so much the case that many don’t even know what it is. [Shouldn’t the children at least know about it? Just asking.]
California is one of five states that doesn’t require students to say the pledge. Instead, students are supposed to have a ‘patriotic exercise’ each day but most ignore that too. It’s probably passe.
The ‘under God’ part is objectionable to some.
They say they are patriotic despite thinking the pledge is extinct.
