If you are discouraged about the scandals surrounding the White House, the deficit spending, and the president’s apparent obliviousness, don’t be. The president is a winner!
Barack Obama has won a lot of awards and it’s only fair to acknowledge these accomplishments.
In February of this year, President Obama won Israel’s Medal of Distinction. According to the announcement, it was given to him for making “a unique and significant contribution to strengthening the State of Israel and the security of its citizens.”
Iran is building a bomb they hope to use to destroy Israel while Obama holds useless talks. Obama helped unleash the Arab Spring which has turned into an Islamic uprising that poses an existential threat to Israel. It’s hard to see how the State of Israel is strengthened and their citizens made more secure. I just can’t see it.
In 2012, Time magazine selected Obama as Person of the Year. The reason given was that he forged the “historic cultural and demographic changes.” Additionally, they said that he “found and forged a new majority, turned weakness into opportunity and sought, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union.”
The president did give us Obamacare and tons of debt and we are all united in our contempt for one another.
In March of 2011, he won the transparency award for “trying to be transparent.”
There’s not much I can tell you about the award and the ceremony because EVERYTHING WAS DONE IN SECRET. Oh the irony!
In 2010, he had to share his Kids Choice award as cutest couple with Michelle Obama.
Barack won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 before he did anything, only 12 days into office.
Did you know Barack Obama won a Grammy in 2008? He won for the “Best Spoken Word Album” for the reading of his autobiography, The Audacity of Hope. It’s an award for liberals. Other winners included Hillary Clinton, Al Franken, JFK, FDR et al.
Usually actors win but Barack Obama uses “good vocal variety,” and he “varies the volume and pace to draw the audience in and then push them back” according to Toastmaster Patrick McClure. Obama “waits for applause and uses good pauses. Each pause adds emphasis to the message. His speaking performance shows simple but eloquent and powerful language,” added McClure.
That was Obama’s second grammy. Obama won his first grammy in 2005 for the recording of his book, Dreams from My Father.
I think he is in line for the Cy Young award, NBA MVP, and he has been preparing for the US Golf Open. [Just kidding]
He hasn’t won an award yet for knowing nothing about anything but that should happen soon.
