In addition to collecting our phone records and Internet communications, forcing AT&T to put presidential alerts on iphones, and spying on the AP and Fox News reporters, the Obama administration is using drones to spy on us. There are no rules governing the government’s use of drones but they will have some guidelines at some point.
Director Robert Mueller told a House committee on Wednesday that the FBI uses drones to conduct domestic surveillance.
Of course they only use it in rare circumstances, Mueller claims. Mueller said the NSA is in the initial stages of developing guidelines. He did not mention when we might expect the guidelines.
Shouldn’t the standards be established before the drones are used? What do you think the chances are that we will ever learn what the guidelines are?
