WaPo Says Hillary Is Going to Be “Tough” Like “George Bush”

WaPo is falsely portraying Hillary Clinton as “tough” and almost hawkish with a style more like George Bush’s than Barack Obama’s. They actually said that. Since when has George been so popular?

They quoted Galston because what he said supported their manipulative narrative.

“Both in tone and content, she made it very clear in this speech that she would be much more than a continuation of Barack Obama,” said William A. Galston, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution who was a senior policy adviser to Clinton’s husband, former president Bill Clinton.

Galston said Thursday’s speech signaled that Hillary Clinton’s style in managing foreign policy would be more like that of former president George H.W. Bush. She would “roll up her sleeves — not only lay down the policy, but be involved with implementing it on the high levels that would be required,” Galston said.

The reason they make the claims that she is “tough” is because, for one thing, she said she wanted a no-fly zone over Syria. That’s like closing the barn door after all the cows have left.

It won’t work because the death toll is caused, for the most part, by artillery barrages and brutal paramilitary hit squads—all of which, including attack helicopters, an NFZ would have a negligible impact on, as the Daily Signal reported.

The Daily Signal also said, it wouldn’t decrease the numbers of refugees and enforcing a no-fly zone would result in a potential loss of life and equipment (Syria possesses some anti-aircraft capabilities), as well as the financial costs. Also, does anyone really believe Putin will go for it?

Her other “tough” decision concerned her allegedly “more ambitious and prominent role for the United States: “No other country can rally the world to defeat ISIS and win the generational struggle against radical jihadism. Only the United States can mobilize common action on a global scale.”

First of all, that’s one of Obama’s so-called big accomplishments. He claims to have a 65-member coalition, so would she have 70, 80 who do nothing?

She insists Turkey and Saudi Arabia step up because “it’s their fight”.

“Our efforts will only succeed if the Arabs and Turks step up in a much bigger way,” Clinton said. “This is their fight, and they need to act like it.”

How is that different? They haven’t stepped up and won’t. Turkey wants Assad destroyed before they do anything and the Saudis aren’t going to join in with US leadership that won’t commit to ground troops which she has assured Americans she will not do.

In fact, she said, if we are attacked on the homeland, she won’t send in troops.

Watch:

She also refuses to say the words “radical Islam,” which only makes her look weak and pandering. She can’t understand the problem if she truly means what she said yesterday, “Muslims have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.”

Radical Muslims do.

She also said she was going to destroy ISIS. How?

“ISIS is demonstrating new ambition, reach and capabilities,” she said in a speech before the Council on Foreign Relations. “Our goal is not to deter or contain ISIS, but to defeat and destroy ISIS.”

She intends to do exactly what Obama did except she’s going to add a no-fly zone which will never work now that Putin is in Syria with Iranians.

She said ISIS isn’t “contained”. That’s not “tough” as WaPo would have us believe. It’s obvious.

Everything she said was semantics. There was nothing of substance.

“ISIS is demonstrating new ambition, reach and capabilities,” she said in a speech before the Council on Foreign Relations. “Our goal is not to deter or contain ISIS, but to defeat and destroy ISIS.”
