Here we see an intimidating and abusive ATF agent taking a photo of people who photographed him.
We are lawless if we are at the point of which a government agency finds ways to ignore a restraining order and then uses the opportunity to get the names of innocent people who will now be subject to government intimidation. It’s not unlike what was done to the AP in that scandal.
Anything goes in the Obama administration, especially when it comes to guns. For those of you who think law enforcement will be on the side of the people should push-come-to-shove, you can forget that fanciful notion.
On March 15, the ATF raided a gun parts store after Federal Judge Janis L. Sammartino reversed her original restraining order and allowed the ATF to conduct raids on Ares Armor locations, seizing customer records and confiscating gun parts.
The ATF threatened them before the raids if they didn’t turn over their customer lists, according to the owner.
This theft of records puts customers at risk of being put through the same type of raids. The ATF will do whatever it wants under this administration, which as we know, is lawless.
The ATF confiscated 80 percent polymer receivers for AR-15s. These receivers are the lower part of the gun that contain the trigger operations when fully completed.
Ares Armor sold EP Armory polymer lower receivers, which the ATF claims are made by making a firearm (completed lower receiver) and then filling it in. EP Armory claims that they make the cores, and then build the lower around the cores, which is completely legal. No charges have arisen from these raids though I don’t doubt they will try to pin something on the owners or employees.
The ATF took the lists of every one of Ares’ customers in a Stasi-like overreach of their authority.
Check out the raid, it’s absurd, they’re dressed in heavy armor and carrying heavy artillery as they break into a store.
The Truth About Guns website has this video of them rummaging through inventory and customers records.
The restraining order issued on the Wednesday before the Saturday raid was reversed when the ATF went to the judge ex parté and asked for clarification. The clarification was to tell them to go ahead and raid the store.
Dimitrios Karras, the store’s owner, had agreed to turn over the parts but refused to give over the 5,000 names.
“They said either give us these 5,000 names or we are coming in and taking pretty much anything – which is a huge privacy concern and something we are not willing to do,” Karras told the Fox News station on Wednesday.
Karras’s attorney arranged for ATF agents to pick up the receivers on Wednesday, but Karras said he would not comply with turning over the customer list.
“They were going to search all of our facilities and confiscate our computer and pretty much shut our business down,” Karras said. “The government invades our privacy on a daily basis and everyone thinks its ok.”
More lawlessness from a lawless administration. This is what tyranny looks like.
Ares Armor has secured the services of Chuck Michel of Michel & Associates P.C. They are renowned and among their clients are the NRA and the California Rifle and Pistol Association. NRA lawyers and experts are assisting in legal and technical issues, according to the examiner.
