We’re not giving up on traditional America. We are going to fight for our freedom.

Big Government, which is now on steroids, is a freedom robber. High taxation slows business and robs us of our economic freedom but that is where we are headed. First it will be the rich, then they will come for us.

Our Constitutional rights are being whittled away. The amendments are being ignored, stepped on, and degraded.

There is something very evil in apparent efforts to divide us and categorize us by race, religion, and wealth. We have seen the damage done by this type of thinking in history but we don’t seem to learn from it.

I read a well-researched biography of Marie Antoinette. In it, the reader goes through the public’s perception of her, first as majestic, then gradually defamed, and finally reduced to nothing more than an evil slut plotting against the common folk. Marie Antoinette was none of those things. She was neither angel nor demon.

She was vilified by the newspapers after having once been put up on a pedestal by them. The idea of the monarchy was losing steam. Times had changed and the opposition needed to focus on the power brokers, she being one. They wanted a common enemy and deliberately set her up as their pawn.

The newspapers invented lies about her until everyone hated her. The public gloried in her torture and beheading, the same people who once loved her. They blamed her for all their suffering.

The French Revolution was violent and brutal, leaving a permanent stain on the history of France. It should not be compared to the American Revolution. The French Revolution was dishonorable and led by leaders worse than those in the royal family.

In America today, words, lies, partial truths are now conveyed through far more expansive media sources. We are divided. We are told to hate the rich and middle-aged white men. We are told that all white people hate black people and that America’s chickens are coming home to roost. Capitalism is vilified and totalitarian states are made acceptable in our Alice-in-Wonderland society.

It is a dangerous situation.

We must heed Daniel Webster’s words cited above. Our Constitution and special freedoms may never come this way again once lost. It is not about race, religion, wealth. It is about freedom and preserving our inherent rights.
