I’m in the peculiar position of supporting Barack Obama who is being unfairly attacked by his own far-left.
Sen. Sherrod Brown, pictured above, Democrat from Ohio, thinks Obama was “disrespectful” of Elizabeth Warren in his treatment of her over the trade deal (TPP).
Terry O’Neill, president of the National Organization of Women, responded to the accusation of sexism which Brown hinted at. “Yes, I think it is sexist,” O’Neill top Yahoo. “I think the president was trying to build up his own trustworthiness on this issue by convincing us that Senator Warren’s concerns are not to be taken seriously. But he did it in a sexist way.”
O’Neill said Obama’s “clear subtext is that the little lady just doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”
The far-left is angry with Barack Obama for disagreeing with them on this one issue.
President Obama called her – perish the thought – by her “first name”. Wow, how sexist can you get.
When asked how, Brown replied: “I think by just calling her ‘another politician.’” He continued, “I’m not going to get into more details. I think referring to her as first name, when he might not have done that for a male senator, perhaps? I’ve said enough.”
Obama, by the way has called male politicians by their first name. He must be a sexist against men too
Obama crossed the line, Brown said.
“I think the president was disrespectful to her by the way he did that,” Brown told reporters during a news conference that came after nearly all Senate Democrats voted to block trade measures from proceeding on the Senate floor. “I think that the president has made this more personal than he needed to.”
Rose de Lauro quoted Bill Clinton using the racist term “thugs” in her comments on the matter, saying she wasn’t surprised that Obama went after Warren.
“President Clinton called those of us who opposed NAFTA ‘thugs,'” said DeLauro. “That we were wrong-headed, that we didn’t know what we were talking about.”
She added, “We did know what we were talking about then. Elizabeth Warren knows what she’s talking about now.”
