What I Just Said About the TSA

TSA recruitment

I just posted an article about the TSA which was penned by a former TSA agent at Newark airport entitled, “Confessions of a TSA Agent: We’re all Airheads.”

In it, the agent talks about some of the ineptitude in the TSA and makes the point that they are more show than effective guardians of our security.

This passage from the article struck me as it will you no doubt:

Did you know you don’t need a high-school diploma or GED to work as a security screener? These are the same screeners that TSA chief John Pistole and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano refer to as a first-class first line of defense in the war on terror.

These are the employees who could never keep a job in the private sector. I wouldn’t trust them to walk my dog.

No sooner do I post it when CNS News posts this article: “TSA Allowed at Least 11 Airport Employees With Criminal Backgrounds To Receive Security Badges.”

They’re not only failing to protect, they’re giving criminals access to secure areas now.

Privatize! A private company will have some sort of standard.
