While Americans were being knifed in Minnesota and others were digging shrapnel out of their bodies in New York, with two of the victims being only 8 years and 15 years of age, while that was going on, Barack Obama was insulting Donald Trump and fundraising for a woman he actually can’t stand. Not a word about the terror attacks.
A bomb was planted by the path of a Marine 5k race and, if the race had gone off on time, the bomb was timed to go off as the kids race went by. Still not a word from our president.
The president was busy giving a condescending speech to the Congressional Black Caucus, demanding they vote for Hillary.
Declaring he would consider it “a personal insult, an insult to my legacy” if black turnout falters for Hillary Clinton, Obama did what he got reamed for doing two years before, during the midterm elections, in which disdain for him was the defining force: Yes, he said, he is pretty much on the ballot in November.
“My name may not be on the ballot, but our progress is on the ballot,” Obama said, his voice rising to a shout as he went well beyond what sources familiar with the speech said was a tamer version of his prepared remarks.
“Tolerance is on the ballot. Democracy is on the ballot. Justice is on the ballot. Good schools are on the ballot. Ending mass incarceration, that’s on the ballot right now.”
“Hope is on the ballot,” he said, laying out the choice. “And fear is on the ballot too.”
He’s a hater.
Then he went into the irrelevant birther issue.
If there’s an extra spring in my step tonight,” Obama said, smiling sardonically. “I am so relieved that the whole birther thing is over.”
“ISIL, North Korea, poverty, climate change — none of those things weighed on my mind like the validity of my birth certificate,” Obama said, in a tone dripping with sarcasm.
“To think, that with just 124 days to go, just under the wire, we got that resolved. That’s a boost for me in the home stretch,” he laughed. “In other breaking news, the world is round, not flat,” he said in a most denigrating manner.
Not for nothing, but he fed those rumors for seven years by refusing to release his certificate for years and making statements like America is really a Muslim country and the sweetest sound he ever heard is the call to prayer, while railing against Christians and insulting the United States to every foreign government he visited.
He raged on unpleasantly during the speech and portrayed Donald Trump as an existential threat to black Americans in what can only be described as over-the-top acrimonious invective.
As an aside, it’s hard to see what good Democrats have done for black Americans.
On Sunday he flew to New York City to attend a glitzy fund raiser for Hillary Clinton — less than a mile from where the Chelsea bomb exploded. He made no mention of the attack in his remarks to wealthy donors. He hasn’t visited any patients either. To recognize them is to recognize his failures in foreign policy. He has made us vulnerable and, in his arrogance, he doesn’t think he needs to be concerned about optics.
This is, after all, the man who was on the golf course, yucking it up, within an hour of giving a speech about beheaded American James Foley.
He simply doesn’t give a hoot and you’d better like it too. If you don’t, he doesn’t care. He’s an unpleasant leftist with 58% popularity which is a sad commentary on where our country has gone and where it is headed.
