Photo of Movie Poster, ‘I Escaped from the Gestapo at Yellowstone’
When Yellowstone was closed on October 1st, the park was emptied out of visitors except for those who had hotel reservations. They were allowed to stay for two days locked up in the hotel under armed guard. They were treated so badly that the foreigners, who were from Asia, the US, Australia, and Canada, thought they were under arrest.
When one group stopped along a road to photograph a herd of bison, an armed ranger appeared almost immediately and ordered them – senior citizens – back on the bus because they were not allowed to ‘recreate,’ he said. The ranger was very harsh and aggressive with the seniors.
Who is Obama to tell people they are not allowed to ‘recreate?’ Who are these rangers to be so empowered?
Pat Vaillancourt was one of the travelers. She described them:
“They looked like Hulk Hogans, armed. They told us you can’t go outside,” she said. “Some of the Asians who were on the tour said, ‘Oh my God, are we under arrest?’ They felt like they were criminals.”
When the bus left, they were not allowed to stop to use the facilities. The dude ranch they used in the past had been warned they would lose their license if they allowed a bus to stop.
The tour guide accused the park service of ‘Gestapo tactics.’ “The national parks belong to the people,” he said. “This isn’t right.”
Needless to say, many of the foreign visitors were shocked and will never return to America.
When are Americans going to look at this kind of thing that we have going on in this country and realize we are becoming a fundamentally transformed nation, one that is totalitarian and vengeful towards its own citizens?
