$33M for a FOIA Request! What Is This MI District Hiding?

In 2022, a Rochester community school district in suburban Detroit settled a lawsuit for nearly $200,000 with a mom who claimed the district was keeping a dossier on parents who opposed COVID lockdowns. Another mom was given a bill for $33 million to respond to a FOIA request.

The school is back in the news.

This Michigan mother wanted to follow up and see what the district was doing to stem future retaliation against parents, so she filed a FOIA Freedom of Information request. The district granted her request with a hefty price tag. That school district claimed that it would require reviewing approximately 21 1/2 million emails, and that would take an estimated 717,000 hours of labor at a rate of $46 an hour.

The parent told the Free Press: “For one person making, like, $83,000 a year, it would take them, like, 400 years to fulfill that FOIA request.”

She’s not the only one. Other parents have been hit with multi-million dollar fees to review classroom curriculum, which begs the question, What are they hiding?

Jessica Opfer was told it would cost more than $25 million to fulfill her request for records about why the district got rid of a language arts curriculum that her eldest daughter loved. Lori Grein, a spokesperson for Rochester Community Schools, said both Clair’s and Opfer’s requests required diverting large amounts of staff time to review documents for material that wasn’t public and, therefore, had to be redacted.

“I obviously wasn’t going to pay these exorbitant fees, and at this point, I felt I had hit a brick wall,” Opfer told The Free Press.

That is an area today of wealthy snobs for the most part. I grew up in that area, when it was mostly farm land. It’s not the same area it once was, it has grown progressively worse over the years. Money can’t by brains is a fact, and money often tends to make most people off centered, they become pushy inconsiderate a-holes that don’t care what others think of them, because they think their shit don’t stink.

Its a fact that wealthy children have some of the worst odds of being self inflicted by their own life styles. From drug addiction, to being liberally hive minded. Believe it or not. Spoiling a child is among the worst forms of child abuse. Mental health problems have also been found to be constantly higher and linked to areas where the wealthy congregate to reside in.

A person that has always been given everything they ever wanted is very likely to grow up having no respect for others.

Spoiling your child may have long-term harmful effects. Since spoiled children may fail to learn to solve their problems growing up, they often lack the life skills needed to handle adulthood.

Increased dependency. Spoiled children may become excessively needy, and this dependency may present differently in their adulthood. Adults spoiled as children may find they are unhappy when alone and derive their happiness from others instead of themselves. This can make it difficult for them to build healthy relationships.

Increased irresponsibility. Spoiled children sometimes fail to learn responsible behavior. These children may end up developing social problems like overspending, gambling, overeating, and drug abuse in their adulthood. Such adults may lack emotional maturity and struggle to manage essential responsibilities like work, finances, and family.

Increased defiance and disrespect. Spoiled children who like to whine, beg, ignore, or manipulate others to get their way may display defiance and disrespect in adulthood. When rebellion is part of a child’s natural response, more negative behaviors are likely to develop in adulthood.

Democrats are experts are using the law to either hide their crime or commit crimes.

The article does not say they are democrats, but odds are 99.9% that they are.

It’s death by a thousand cuts. The whole point is to make it so difficult that people will just give up.
