Update: Kang Hoon-sik, chief of staff for President Lee Jae Myung, said that South Korea and the U.S. had finalized negotiations on the workers’ release. He said South Korea plans to send a charter plane to bring the workers home as soon as remaining administrative steps are completed.

Foreign Minister Cho Hyun is to leave for the U.S. on Monday for talks related to the workers’ releases, South Korean media reported.

U.S. immigration authorities said Friday they detained 475 people, most of them South Korean nationals, when hundreds of federal agents raided Hyundai’s sprawling manufacturing site in Georgia where the Korean automaker makes electric vehicles. Agents focused on a plant that is still under construction at which Hyundai has partnered with LG Energy Solution to produce batteries that power EVs.

The deal was for American jobs.

Original Story, September 6

Joe Biden promised 8,000 good paying jobs for Americans in a Georgia Hyundai plant that Americans funded. It is the same company that was raided this week. ICE captured 475 illegal alien workers out of the 1200 currently working in the plant. The plant was built with $5 billion tax dollars.

They should be fined $5 billion to make us square.

It’s a Korean car company and most of the illegals were Korean.

This is the second time a Hyundai plant in Georgia has been raided by ICE. In February of this year a plant in Rome, Georgia was raided.

As an aside, when I say “Biden” did anything, I mean President Autopen and his handlers.

Only $5B? I would say another $95B in punitive damages to the American taxpayers’.

I didn’t know we funded the plant, or that the illegals were Korean.

TGP is so unreadable now that it is hard to get details even when included. And that site is popping up gossip about Dana Perino and McAfee ads.
