Anderson Cooper Can Lie With a Straight Face

Anderson Cooper and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher

In this video, Anderson Cooper gets frustrated with GOP Rep. Dana Rohrabacher over Benghazi and accuses him of being factually incorrect. If you’ve read any of my articles, you know that Anderson Cooper is factually incorrect. The press and the administration are twisting facts to suit their dishonest narrative.

At least people now realize al-Qaida is alive and well, far more so than GM.

Rohrabacher believes that the White House version of the events in Benghazi amounts to a cover up and Anderson Cooper believes the administration simply didn’t have the information when they claimed the video trailer was the cause of the Benghazi attack.

Anderson Cooper’s evidence is that Barack Obama, Ambassador Rice, and General Petraeus all said the video protest was the cause of the Benghazi attack. In reality, they were saying similar things because they were circling the wagons. General Petraeus is saying something different now about what he said on the 14th.

Rohrabacher attempts to explain that they must have known there was no protest that night given the evidence available to them at that point in time. In fact, General Petraeus said that day (Friday) that he knew right away it was a terror attack and that his references to al-Qaida and Islamic extremism were taken out of the unclassified talking points.

The now-famous and unclassified talking points from intelligence are allegedly what Obama’s spokespeople and Obama himself used to “inform” the public about the events in Benghazi. They were changed after they left intelligence and when they went to the political people who serve the president.

The unclassified talking points consist of one minimal paragraph with General Petraeus’ references omitted:

The currently available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the United States Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault against United States diplomatic posts in Benghazi and subsequently its annex. There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations. This assessment may change as additional information is collected and analyzed and as currently available information continues to be evaluated. The investigation is ongoing, and the United States government is working with Libyan authorities to bring justice to those responsible for the death of United States citizens.

On the 14th, in closed hearings before Congress, General Petraeus included the video as a possibility but apparently his talking points said that it was a terror attack by radical Islamic terrorists. Petraeus was much clearer this past Friday when he gave testimony to Congress behind closed doors.

In this video, you can watch Anderson Cooper cleverly twist reality and protect the president:
