Supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei insulted Barack Obama Saturday via Twitter but it’s doubtful Obama will do anything but continue begging Iran for a nuclear deal.
Obama recently sent a Happy Nowruz videotaped address to the Iranian people, who won’t hear the message, and to the Ayatollahs. Obama made a point of complaining about people in this country and beyond who supposedly don’t want a diplomatic resolution to the nuclear problem. It was a swipe at Republicans in this country and at Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. For his efforts, the Supreme leader told Obama how arrogant and dishonest he is.
At least we know we have this point of agreement with the Ayatollah.
He also made it clear he won’t discuss anything regionally, which for them is the entire Middle East and beyond.
President Obama’s aides accused Prime Minister Netanyahu of spitting in his eye simply for accepting an invitation to speak before Congress earlier this month, but this isn’t being spat at.
Iran’s propaganda outlet in this country – Press TV – quotes the Ayatollah as saying “removal of anti-Iran sanctions should be part and parcel of any possible nuclear deal between Iran and the P5+1 countries, and should not come as a late result of those talks.”
There is no doubt in my mind that Obama and Kerry will drop the sanctions immediately if they feel they can get away with it. By going directly to the U.N. Security Council instead of going to the U.S. Congress, Obama would essentially be doing exactly that. As soon as the Council approves the deal, China and Russia will immediately drop the sanctions, others will follow, and nothing we do will matter.
Khamenei said “the U.S. government is in dire need of nuclear talks.”
He knows Obama is desperate, so desperate he will give it all away to pretend he has a deal.
Khamenei’s going to keep on developing nuclear whatever. He was quoted by Press TV as saying, “Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized Iran’s nuclear industry is indigenous, belongs to people, and should progress.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister said that the P5+1 have reached agreement on political and technical differences on the deal. Rouhani also believes a deal has been reached. The only thing left is for Barack Obama to go to the U.N. Security Council.
