[AP] A bear with his head stuck in a jar for about 11 days was rescued in Jamison City, Pennsylvania.

The bear put its head in the jar because there was cooking oil in it.

He hadn’t eaten or had anything to drink but it didn’t stop him from resisting rescuers efforts to lasso him and pull the jar off his head.

The young bear weighs about 100 pounds.

He kept running away from his would-be rescuers but they knew where he was because he kept banging into things.

A compassionate group of 4 people chased the bear and finally saved him. They cornered him in a resident’s yard and, after he fell into a swimming pool twice, they were able to finally pull the jar off his head.
