Look What Bloomberg Gun Grabbers Have In Mind Now!

A Washington Post article by two gun grabbers, Evan DeFilippis and Devin Hughes, who are tied to Mike Bloomberg and who claim they are only looking for common-sense regulations, started out with outright disinformation. They said conservative pundit Charles Krauthammer wants to do nothing about gun violence.

Krauthammer pointed out in the piece they are referring to that nothing they are suggesting would change the mass shootings they claim they want to stop. The Democrats, he noted, have rechristened gun control as “common-sense gun-safety laws.”

Krauthammer also delved into the idea of taking guns from select groups. That of course is a canard and Obama said it is. He said on October 2nd that there was no way to pick out those who will commit gun crimes with expanded target groups so Krauthammer and Obama agree.

Evan and Devin who wrote this latest anti-gun piece also left out Krauthammer’s substantive comments about Obama’s insincerity and the fact that the only gun measure that would make a difference is 100% gun confiscation as suggested by Barack Obama in his speech the day of the Oregon shooting.

That, however, is what the gun grabbers know and it is what they want, but they plan to do it incrementally.

The two “common sensers” list three laws that they’d like to see though, as Barack Obama said, they won’t make a difference.

Obama wants to – in the least – greatly reduce the number of guns as he suggests here.

“It’s true that the majority of these mass shooters are angry young men but there are hundreds of millions of angry young men around the world. Tens of millions…most of them don’t shoot. It doesn’t help us just to identify..and the majority of people who have mental illnesses are not shooters. So we can’t sort through and identify ahead of times who might take actions like this. The only thing we can do is make sure that they can’t have an entire arsenal when something snaps in them.”

So, let’s continue with the solutions.

First, they want a national permit-to-purchase, or PTP. They want to expand this to all guns. It would be the beginning of nationalized gun laws and a National Gun Registry. There would be problems with states that allow concealed and open carry so the government would have to tighten the law.

It would be another expense and it would be renewed every five years along with the fee.

We already have background checks for gun purchases.

Second, they want to expand it to anyone accused of domestic violence – even those with a restraining order. In New York, they give those out like Pennysavers and pretending one is the victim of domestic violence is a popular tactic to get the money and the kids in divorce settlements.

As Barack Obama said, it won’t work.

Expanding gun control to those convicted of violent misdemeanors is fine but that’s already in place.Federal law already includes domestic violence misdemeanor convictions and restraining orders in the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). Judges can already require the surrender of firearms, FID cards and purchase permits in domestic violence cases where restraining orders are issued. These bills lack adequate due process, especially when one’s constitutional right can be taken away.

If another law is put in, it takes it out of the hands of the judges and gives it to the overly large incompetent government.

Third, they want to give more jobs to lawyers by allowing victims of gun violence to sue. gun manufacturers and dealers. It won’t stop the violence but it will provide an unearned payday for some and put gun manufacturers and dealers out of business.

But that is the goal, isn’t it?

There are some studies they cite that were commissioned by the gun grabbers and we have enough information on this website to counteract the dishonesty in these studies to warrant ignoring it. Their constant attacks on John Lott’s research have been answered by John Lott himself on this link and here.

Evan and Devin formed a group called Armed with Reason and they both write for nanny Bloomberg’s The Trace. Most likely they are funded by him too.

These people are leftists who write for communists at VOX and similar outlets and they are tied to former New York City mayor Bloomberg.

John Tkazyik, the mayor of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., said in February 2014 that he quit Bloomberg’s group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, after he realized its objective was outright confiscation of firearms from law-abiding citizens.

“Under the guise of helping mayors facing a crime and drug epidemic, MAIG intend[s] to promote confiscation of guns from law-abiding citizens,” Tkazyik wrote in a Wednesday column in the Poughkeepsie Journal.

“Nearly 50 pro-Second Amendment mayors have left the organization. They left for the same reason I did,” he also added.

Anyone tied to Bloomberg wants to confiscate guns from law-abiding citizens – period!
