Bye, Bye Penny!

No more pennies. It’s a shame for coin collectors. However, that hobby is all but dead. The penny costs two cents to make. However, how is this going to help consumers? It helps the government, but businesses still have taxes. So, if it comes to $4.96, you’ll pay $5.

First, we lost the half-cent when I was a child in 1857, now it’s the penny. What next? The nickel?

Maybe they will have to bring back the 2-cent or 3-cent coin?

Officials wanted to do this for years, but nothing happened. Trump certainly gets things done and can multi-task.

Why don’t we get rid of all sales tax and coins and make everything cost by the dollar. I mean it already is, so what’s the point of all that change anyway? If it’s cheaper make them two for a dollar or make them bigger.

While it’s the right thing to do, it will be missed! Pennies have done a lot for us, but for none more than our kids! Pennies taught our children counting, simple addition, how to recognize Pres. Lincoln, the color copper and the process of oxidation. And in turn they gave us, “see a penny pick it up all day have good luck” and penny loafers.
In my heart, I know that more people will miss the US Penny than will EVER miss Biden.

That’s only because the penny is still useful.

Living in Australia the last 30 years, has been a life without pennies. 4.96 actually results in a 5 cent return. Since almost every thing is done by bankcard, I rarely deal in change.

Where is the lawsuits to stop and prevent this travesty and injustice. Judges need to act post haste. This began with the end of the mil.
