Mark Carney is running on the disconnect-from-America ticket. He said the old relationship with America no longer exists. I kind of guessed as much when Chrystia Freeland said they wanted nukes to aim at the United States.
Carney is looking to Europe to save them. Lots of luck, Mark. They’ll rob you blind.
Carney said, “The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperations is over.
“What exactly the United States does next is unclear, but what is clear, what is clear is that we as Canadians have agency, we have power. We are masters in our own home who submit. … we can control our destiny. We can give ourselves much more than any foreign government, including the United States, can ever take away. We can deal with this crisis best by building our strength right here at home.”
What power? Where’s the substance in what he’s saying?
“It will take hard work. It will take steady and focused determination from governments, from businesses, from labor, from Canadians. we will need to dramatically reduce our reliance on the United States. We will need to pivot our trade relationships elsewhere, and we will need to do things previously thought impossible at speeds we haven’t seen in generations.”
This guy reminds me of Andrew Cuomo. He never says anything of substance, either. Cuomo names problems but never says what he’ll do with them.
All of that means nothing. He doesn’t say what they are going to do or how they are going to do it. This is a political speech with nothing of substance.
Canada has similar buffoons to the ones we have.

Doug Ford plans to hurt us. How human of him.
WOW: Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he wants to “inflict as much pain as possible” on Americans

If Carney wants to make the U.S. an enemy, he’s playing with fire. The U.S. could destroy the economy of that liberal Trudeau-electing nation. – and it will happen if the Canadians continue to have “leaders” like Carney and Fidel Trudeau.
I am having a flare up of fibromyalgia and CFS symptoms so i ll keep this short
Only in the province of Quebec is Liberal Carney popular, in all of the other Provinces Canadians prefer conservative Pierre Poilievre
If I felt better i d find the survey links
most Canadians do not like Carney at all
He is a pure leftist elitist globalist financier. It’s like having Fink of BlackRock as leader. The globalists want to take down the USA and freedom.
Canada’s trade overseas is more expensive than trading with the USA, because of transportation. Canada and the EU are not healthy markets, and would apply restrictions to each other.
This speech helps transform the world. We will do better with stronger ties to Russia.
Does this mean Canada won’t be using the U.S. medical system as their “supplemental” backup for their crappy system? That will be interesting to watch.
What a childish position to take
It is highly unwise to speak like that about our major trading partner, Pr. Trump, the leader of a world power. Mark(ist) Garney has NO mandate to make decisions like this, for he is NOT an elected PM.
This is the WEF clone from Davos talking. I am sure he went to Macron and Stramer, both losers, to discuss this scenario.
It is good to remember that President Trump dislikes the WEF and has said so. I am sure Garney discussed this with Furher Schwab, knowing that 30% of liberals are supporters of the WEF.
Carney made this totally and utterly ignorant statement without being an elective PM. Do we have the next dictator in Canada?
Sadly our brothers and sister in Canada will suffer even as our brother and siters in Europe are suffering from tyrannical rulers. When I was a young man the two countries were so much alike and I enjoyed a lot of time wit relatives in Ontario.
They’re close to being past the point of no return and collapsing economically, and systematically committing political suicide. They keep digging a deeper hole for themselves every time you turnaround.
Completely Irrational reaction’s to the situation at hand. They’ll figure it out sooner or later.
And it ashamed what they’ve done to the place. I once cherished place that I used to visit, not today.
I have not been to Toronto or Vancouver, and I never will. I heard from people that lived there that they were swarmed with Chinese and other Asians. Canada is not Canada anymore.
There are so many mostly vacant houses there, owned by Asians, that Canada created a special tax for them, since they are not contributing to the Canada economy.
The way Canadians booed the US anthem at those 2 hockey games shows that the public is fooled.
