Barack Obama came out immediately Thursday to condemn the Second Amendment for the mass murder of 9 people and the wounding of at least 7 more. What he didn’t mention was the heroism of one student who tried to stop the killer.
Barack Obama decided instead to raise an issue that would cause hate and division before we even knew the details of the case and before the public even knew how many died or were injured.
If he were a uniter, he would have told us about the courageous Chris Mintz who put his life on the line for others.
Army veteran Chris Mintz, 30, charged the shooter and was shot seven times as he tried to save his classmates. He blocked the door and took the bullets!
Mintz’ cousin said, “There was no way he was going to stand around and watch something this horrific happen.”
Miraculously, no vital organs were hit, Derek Bourgeois told DailyMail.com. he spent most of Thursday in surgery and will have to learn to walk again, both of his legs are broken.
Mintz was studying to be a fitness coach.
The victim’s aunt Wanda told FOX8: “He could have very easily died. I really think that if he wasn’t such a strong, young guy, he may have died.”
According to his family, he was in the military for ten years and moved to Oregon to help raise his son.
He started the day yesterday by wishing his six-year-old son Tyrik “happy birthday” on Facebook before headed to school.
According to the Daily Beast, he was heard saying ‘It’s my son’s birthday’ as he lay wounded at the school.
In a post on Facebook last month, Mintz reflected on his life, saying, “memories are what makes life worth living…So if you’re lucky, you’ll find the stars in your life and make a lifetime of one of a kind memories.”
According to this report the shooter was singling out Christians for execution.
The gunman who opened fire at Umpqua Community College in Oregon asked victims to state their religion before opening fire, according to multiple reports.
An 18-year-old student told the News-Review newspaper that the gunman, after shooting her teacher in the head through a window, told people to get on the ground. He then told people to stand up and state their religion before opening fire.
Twitter user @BodhiLooney, who said her grandma was at the school, said the shooter asked people if they were Christian. “If they said yes, then they were shot in the head,” she wrote. “If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs.”
The Washington Times reported that the father of a student wounded in Thursday’s shooting, said his daughter told him that gunman Chris Harper Mercer specifically targeted Christians.
Before going in for spinal surgery, Anastasia Boylan told her father Stacy Boylan that everyone in her classroom dropped to the ground when Mercer entered the room firing his handgun, hitting a professor and others, CNN reported. While reloading, Mercer told students to stand up if they were Christians, she said.
“And they would stand up and he said, ‘Good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second,’ ” Stacy Boylan told CNN, relaying his daughter’s account. “And then he shot and killed them.”
Conservative Treehouse has postings from the killer’s social media pages but at least one looks suspicious and was put up recently. The most significant find in the accounts is he related to violent killers whether they be the IRA , the killer of two reporters last month, or Islamist radicals, he hated religion, posted on BlackLivesMatter, and had gone to a school for the emotionally disturbed. Mercer wrote he is of mixed race.
