The media has moved on from the near-massacre of up to 25 Republicans yesterday. If this were a mass shooting of a Democrat, that would not have been the case. The left has one system for the left and quite another for the right.
A communist campaign volunteer for Bernie Sanders tried to kill every Republican he could yesterday, but the media is doing their best to change the narrative. Most are blaming guns, but we have two fake news winners who were more creative. They did the best job of being themselves – fake. That would be the NY Times and CNN.
Fake news media
The New York Times editorial board examined the reasons for the attack. It isn’t the 24/7 poisonous coverage of Republicans in the media – it’s Sarah Palin’s fault. They went back to the lie that the madman who shot Rep. Gabby Giffords and six others was spurred on by Sarah Palin.
The Times has since taken it back but Sarah Palin might sue them.
The killer’s favorite book is The Communist Manifesto but let’s not let facts creep in.
This is from the editorial board:
“The link to political incitement was clear. Before the shooting, Sarah Palin’s political action committee circulated a map of targeted electoral districts that put Ms. Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs.” The targeted electoral map is a long-standing graphic design element that Democrats used a version of as well…
…The Times went on to say that in this case, there was “no sign of incitement as direct as in the Giffords attack.”
Never mind that they themselves wrote in 2011:
“[H]is anger would well up at the sight of President George W. Bush.”
There is zero evidence that the killer ever looked at any political material from Sarah Palin. The tale was invented. Giffords father said he knew it was a Tea Party person.
Our second winner is CNN and Jim Acosta. Can’t get too much more fake than Jim Acosta.
President Trump and his wife Melania gave up his birthday celebration to visit the wounded Majority Whip.
Both the President and Mrs. Trump visited with the family and Rep. Scalise. Trump said “he was in some trouble” but was hopeful because he is a “fighter”.
CNN’s Jim Acosta tweeted fake news. “WH official on hospital visit: “President Trump did not meet with Scalise and did not go into the room where Scalise is being treated,” he tweeted.
Fake News Acosta has since deleted the fake news tweet.
Condition of the wounded men
Though many in the media has moved on, we haven’t.
— ABC News Politics (@ABCPolitics) June 15, 2017
Rep. Scalise had his third surgery Thursday morning and remains in critical condition. He had significant injuries to internal organs, including a broken hip. He had lost a great deal of blood.
Matt Mika is also in critical condition Thursday and requires assistance to breathe. He remains conscious and has been communicating through notes, the family says.
Mika will need additional surgeries.
“We truly appreciate the outpouring of support, love and prayers,” the Mika family said in a statement. “Our family continues to be in shock and we ask for privacy while we focus on Matt and his care. Because of his condition, Matt cannot receive visitors or accept gifts at the ICU” at George Washington University Hospital.
He had been shot several times in the chest.
Mika, a member of the Republican congressional baseball team, was shot multiple times in his chest and arm, and “suffered massive trauma,” his family said.
All are grateful to the officers who saved their lives and the care they’ve received.
On Monday, Steve Scalise was so happy to be playing baseball.
