U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Oregon) says Trump’s behavior is erratic and that has prompted him to introduce legislation that offers an alternative method for removing presidents from office.

He’s calling it the “No Trump Act”. I like it but let’s call it the “No Schumer Act”.

These Democrats have lost it.

Under the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, a president can be removed if the vice president and a majority of cabinet members send written notice to congressional leaders that the president is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”

The president can protest, but if the vice president and cabinet members are adamant about the president’s unfitness, Congress can remove the president with a two-thirds majority in both houses.

The 25th Amendment also allows Congress to create its own body to declare a president unfit.  Blumenauer’s bill would establish that body, comprised of all living former presidents and vice presidents.

Oh that would be fair. They all hate President Trump.

Presidents can also be removed for treason, bribery and high crimes and misdemeanors but they never thought of using that on Barack Obama. His deals with Iran, the bribery to get Obamacare passed, the constant lying – those things didn’t mean a thing.
