The left is trying to force Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign or at least make him recuse himself on important cases. They also want a special prosecutor to oversee the fishing expedition probing manufactured Trump-Putin ties.
In a coordinated, timed attack, first reported by The Washington Post. leakers say Attorney General Sessions had two meetings with the Russian ambassador during the campaign and it should be noted, this was while Obama was president. He did have those meetings but there is a lot more to the story.
The Democrats overstep and overreact as they are now and they lose everyone. There is a legitimate question here and AG Sessions has to say more about this but Republicans don’t need to play into Democrats’ hands. Democrats jump the gun every time and go the most extreme point. They lose people when they do that.
The leaks are being let out in an orchestrated manner to destroy Trump’s team and his agenda. First they shook up Flynn and since then have assailed Bannon, Conway, Miller, every cabinet member. The administration should never have let Flynn go. It was the chink in the armor.
This is a leak and it is illegal. No one seems to care about that.
The entire media are gleefully reporting the Attorney General had two meetings with the Russian ambassador. Democrats say he lied under oath.

The Wall Street Journal reported this Wednesday night. Opening lines of this failed hit piece: “The outcome of this investigation and whether it is ongoing isn’t clear.”
Their ‘sources’ are so reputable that they don’t even know if the investigation is still open or has been closed?”
The nothing meetings between the ambassador and Sessions that they are referencing were part of Session’s responsibilities as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Sessions said he was not aware that his communications as a senator were subject to FBI scrutiny.
Why not investigate Hillary for her uranium deal or Podesta for his US technology to Russia deal or how about Obama who orchestrated leaks and has a team to topple the President? Let’s investigate Hillary and Obama for sending arms to nations that supply ISIS.
The Justice Department said late Wednesday that one of the discussions between Sessions and Sergey Kislyak was an office visit that occurred in Sessions’ capacity as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The second conversation took place in a group setting with other ambassadors following a Heritage Foundation speech.
It is clear Obama is trying to oust President Trump like any tinpot dictator would in a third world country.
As a member of the Armed Services Committee, Sessions had a meeting in September with the Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and another brief and informal meeting in a gaggle of fifty ambassadors that included Kislyak. This was part of his job though the hill reports that out of 26 members of the committee, 20 who responded said they had not spoken with the ambassador.
There are 12 Democrats on the committee and the Republican members include neverTrumpers McCain, Graham, Sasse. As it turns out some later said they didn’t but actually did. Maybe he’s not very notable. Who knows.
This just happened to coincide with McCain and Graham’s public CNN talk. Make no mistake, the forces at work know that no Democrat is going to be able to stand up to Trump, so McCain and Graham are “credible” people to go against the Trump agenda and start sniping his cabinet.
Russia is the new liberal version of kryptonite. They’re flailing about since the attacks calling the right racist, sexist and homophobic are no longer working. Russia is their new secret weapon. Pelosi even mentioned last year that she was worried calling the right “racist” was no longer having any effect on them. They don’t recoil.
Democrats loved the Soviets, but Russia, not so much.
When Al Franken, a hard-left senator who cheated to get elected, asked Sessions if he had contact with the Russians, Sessions said he did not.
Sessions said late Wednesday night, “i never met with any Russian officials to discuss issues of the campaign. I have no idea what this allegation is about. It is false.”
The statement from Sessions spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores:
“There was absolutely nothing misleading about his answer. Last year, the Senator had over 25 conversations with foreign ambassadors as a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, including the British, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Indian, Chinese, Canadian, Australian, German and Russian ambassadors. He was asked during the hearing about communications between Russia and the Trump campaign – not about meetings he took as a senator and a member of the Armed Services Committee.”
The White House responded: “General Sessions met with the ambassador in an official capacity as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, which is entirely consistent with his testimony.”
Sessions told NBC News that when it is appropriate, he will recuse himself.
Elijah Cummings wants him to resign.
Schiff wants recusal. “If reports are accurate that Attorney General Sessions — a prominent surrogate for Donald Trump — met with Ambassador Kislyak during the campaign, and failed to disclose this fact during his confirmation, it is essential that he recuse himself from any role in the investigation of Trump campaign ties to the Russians,” Representative Adam Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement. “This is not even a close call; it is a must.”
“After lying under oath to Congress about his own communications with the Russians, the Attorney General must resign,” House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said in a statement.
Graham of course came down on the side of the Democrats and said “There may be nothing there. But if there is something there that the FBI believes is criminal in nature, then for sure you need a special prosecutor.” Graham wants to “know what happened between the Trump campaign, the Clinton campaign, and the Russians.”
The left, Graham, McCain, Obama will use the media for character assassinations to undermine Trump and his appointees. They’ll use the courts and activist judges to litigate him to death.
This is why Trump must use Twitter and Facebook and it’s why Spicer and Trump are fighting the media on a daily basis. Trump knows that if he ever stops fighting, the media and Obama will cut him down.
Trump needs to expose Obama, Clinton and all their little minions. Perhaps this is why they are going after Sessions as well. They want to weaken him before any such investigation takes place.
