‘Crazy’, ‘Insane’, ‘Retarded’ Orwellian PC Program Ramping Up at University of Michigan

Crimestop, according to Orwell is “The faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought. It includes the power of not grasping analogies, of failing to perceive logical errors, of misunderstanding the simplest arguments if they are inimical to Ingsoc, and of being bored or repelled by any train of thought which is capable of leading in a heretical direction. In short….protective stupidity.”

The University of Michigan is running an Inclusive Language Program that is well-intentioned and has some good components but ends up as a very slippery slope. We could end up in a position of not being able to say anything that offends anyone anywhere if we follow their prescriptive solution for offensive language and stereotypes.

The University and their student disciples want people to be ‘goodthinkers’ to use Orwell terminology.

There are $16,000 worth of posters all over the campus which insist students not say things that might hurt someone’s feelings. The campaign is paid for by the university which has been raising the tuition each year. The University of Maryland ran the same program two years ago at a cost of $15,000.

Unacceptable words include ‘crazy’, insane’, retarded’, ‘gay’, ‘tranny’, ‘gypped’, ‘illegal alien’, ‘fag’, ‘ghetto’, ‘ratchet’, ‘raghead’.

I have no idea why “gay” and “ratchet” are on the list or even illegal alien except the left doesn’t like anyone being here illegally – all are welcomed.

You can’t say within earshot of anyone, “I want to die” or “My God, that test almost killed me.” Check out the poster below.

“Ghetto” is banned because it might insult someone who grew up in a ghetto even though it’s merely a word describing an environment. You can’t say “the test raped me” because you are trivializing rape. Best yet, don’t say, “I want to die” in even a lighthearted way because it might make someone kill you.

Students are asked to sign a pledge to “use inclusive language” and to help their peers “understand the importance of using inclusive language.”

Posters on campus saying, “YOUR WORDS MATTER” remind people to abide by their Orwellian rules.

In the end, It will be impossible for people to understand what people are talking about. If someone is intellectually challenged, is the person mentally ill or learning disable or does the person have a low IQ or something else?

If a person isn’t an illegal alien, is the person simply waiting for documents?

There don’t seem to be any signs banning words like tea bagger, cracker, redneck, NAZI, rightwing loon.

There is pretty much nothing you can say that might offend their protected groups if you go to their Facebook page and look at the posters – they’ve thought of everything.

We can’t wear costumes – even if they are not insulting – someone might be insulted. Check out this poster.

They have phrases you can’t say. Check out this poster:

Every single possible offense they think of ends up on a poster.
