Before the vote, the President sent Jared Kushner and Mike Pence to attempt a negotiation with the vile Mr. Schumer. It didn’t go anywhere. Schumer is an evil man who only cares about himself. The vote moved ahead with the hardcore leftist Democrats refusing to compromise in any way. It is clear they are open borders activists.
The vote in the Senate stalled at one point until Doug Jones and the reluctant Republicans voted.

Senator Jeff Flake voted to keep the legislation from moving forward at one point since he said it couldn’t pass. He tried to slip DACA into the legislation to get Democrats to move forward.
“I think one that could — if we’re going to reopen this thing to add more money for a wall or steel slats, or whatever you want to call it, then throw DACA in, too,” Flake said, adding that several colleagues support his position.

In the end, Flake voted for a motion to proceed without DACA, as did Corker and one Democrat Doug Jones. Vice President Pence broke a tie to move the legislation.
The vote was 48-47 with Pence’s ballot &was the longest vote in Senate history.
Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) voted yes as did Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), which was key.

THE SCHUMER SHUTDOWN
Senators are leaving the Capitol without a vote for the border wall. Democrats want the President destroyed and they don’t care if they have to take the country down to do it.
Sen. Ted Cruz says the “extreme” Democrats who rejected even a “penny” for border security are to blame if the federal government shuts down.
The Texas Republican told reporters on Friday that a “Schumer shutdown” will occur if the New York senator and his allies reject any compromise on border security funding.
“The president was unequivocal this morning,” Mr. Cruz told reporters. “If Chuck Schumer and the Democrats adopt an extreme line, that they’re not willing to give a penny for border security, then Schumer will go forward and shut the government down. That would be an unfortunate thing.”
House lawmakers approved a spending bill Thursday night with $5.7 billion in border security funding. Senate Democrats said they won’t fund any of the wall.
“So, President Trump, you will not get your wall,” Mr. Schumer said gloating while speaking before the Senate on Friday. “Abandon your shutdown strategy. You’re not getting the wall today, next week, or on January 3 when Democrats take control of the House.”
It’s hard to believe the Democrats weren’t in charge for the past two years. They have gotten everything they want.
