Documents Show a Feckless Secretary Clinton Backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt

Hillary Clinton with Mohammed Morsi

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2012 called the election of Egypt’s Islamist Muslim Brotherhood leader a “milestone” for Egyptian democracy.  She offered covert police and security assistance to the BROTHERHOOD and Mohammad Morsi [who is now imprisoned in Egypt for taking over the Egyptian government, media, and most of the judiciary]. according to declassified State Department documents.

A nine-page document, once-labeled “Secret,” listed talking points for Clinton’s meeting with newly-elected Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi on July 14, 2012. The talking points said Morsi’s election was a key step toward popular democracy in the strategic North African state.

“We stand behind Egypt’s transition to democracy,” the heavily-redacted Clinton talking points state, adding that the only way to maintain a strong Egypt is “through a successful transition to democracy.”

She offered American technical expertise and assistance from both the U.S. government and private sector to support his economic and social programs, something the U.S. would not do for Jordan or the new government in Libya after the war or for Egypt when Morsi was overthrown.

Clinton put $60 million in a fund to launch various enterprises in Egypt with the intention of eventually adding $300 million.

The Muslim Brotherhood is an international terrorist organization founded in 1928 and it is the granddaddy of most other terrorist organizations in the region including al Qaeda. Its motto is “Allah is our objective; the Prophet is our Leader; the Quran is our law; Jihad is our way; dying in the path of Allah is our highest hope.”

The defining mission of the Muslim Brotherhood is the implementation of sharia. Sharia is Islamic law and it is antidemocratic and contrary to fundamental rights and freedoms. It is the political movement interwoven with the religion.

The Brotherhood was declared a terrorist organization by the U.A.E., Egypt, and Saudi Arabia in 2014 but the US decided to use this organization as their means for political change in the Middle East.

The UAE government also labeled two U.S. affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim American Society, as terrorist support groups.

These are organizations now supplying leaders and filling various other positions in the U.S. government.

The Brotherhood masks its goals and objectives despite advocating an extremist ideology similar to those espoused by al Qaeda and the Islamic State, but with less violence. The group’s motto includes the phrase “jihad is our way.” Jihad means holy war and it is the Islamist battle cry.

The Obama administration issued the secret 2011 Presidential Study Directive-11, or PSD-11.

Looking in the rearview mirror at Barack Obama’s Middle East policy, a clearer perspective has emerged. It shows a feckless leader who chose the Muslim Brotherhood to organize the Middle East and fight terrorism. In his mind and the collective minds of his advisers, they were the “moderates.”

Presidential Study Directive 11 aka PSD-11 issued in 2010 detailed his plan for the remapping of the Middle East. Part of that plan was to pursue the Muslim Brotherhood.

The process at the time was led by Dennis B. Ross, the president’s senior adviser on the Middle East; Samantha Power, a senior director at the National Security Council who handles human rights issues; and Gayle Smith, a senior director responsible for global development.

Four countries were suggested for political change. The New York Times suggested they were Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain and Yemen. It also seems likely Libya was in the mix. Egypt and Yemen were certainly two of them. [75% of Yemen is now under the rule of Iran’s Houthis]

The New York Times reported that Mr. Obama pressed his advisers to study popular uprisings in Latin America, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia to determine which ones worked and which did not.

They wrote that he is drawn to Indonesia, where he spent several years as a child, which ousted its longtime leader, Suharto, in 1998.

The bbc also remarked on the similarities between the uprisings in Egypt and in Indonesia.

Suharto’s fall led to the rise of the Prosperous Justice Party which was an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The PSD-11 is still secret.

What we know was published in a Gulf News article in June, 2014: the President personally issued Presidential Study Directive 11 (PSD-11) in 2010, ordering an assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood and other “political Islamist” movements, including the ruling AKP in Turkey, ultimately concluding that the United States should shift from its longstanding policy of supporting “stability” in the Middle East and North Africa (that is, support for “stable regimes” even if they were authoritarian), to a policy of backing “moderate” Islamic political movements.

In a memo written in 2012 and secured by Judicial Watch, the Department of Defense showed they knew the insurgency against Assad was led by the Brotherhood, the Salafists, and AQI [which later became knows as ISIL]. Despite this, the U.S. threw their lot in with opposition forces because Obama said Assad must go.

This Department of Defense memo came out about the same time as the attacks in Benghazi.

According to these documents, it was worth it to the administration to let AQI [ISIL,ISIS or IS] grow in order to isolate Assad and to have a proxy war with Iran and Russia. It appears to still be the tactic. It was a tactic devised by the incompetents Obama hired.

Hillary’s closest associate, outside of liars and image makers, is Huma Abedin whose family are thoroughly ensconced in Sharia. They are high-level Muslim Brotherhood.

The Egyptians overthrew Morsi and never appreciated Hillary’s support for the dictator.

  • Indeed, both Clinton and Obama have been, are, and will continue to be HUGE fans of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Egyptian people were FURIOUS with both of them and were having none of it.

I recall when the people of Egypt rose up and revolted against Morsi and the MB. Honestly, I felt a pang of jealousy, WISHED we could do the very same thing HERE.
