On Monday FBI director James Comey told the House Intelligence Committee that the Republican Party emails were not released during the 2016 election campaign. That wasn’t true.
Republican Party emails were released during the campaign but there was nothing scandalous in them. Either Comey forgot or he lied.

DC Leaks released Republican emails during the campaign and someone needs to tell FBI Director Comey who is obviously confused.
On Monday, Jim Comey decided to go public with the news that the FBI has been and continues to investigate Russian interference in the U.S. elections and any links to campaigns, including Trump associates — but he refused to confirm a probe into illegal leaking by high-ranking government officials. He would only say that the FBI takes it very seriously.
The unmasking and subsequent leaking of confidential information is extremely dangerous to Americans but he seemed to gloss over it. Comey didn’t think revealing whether there was an investigation into it was necessary for the public good.

Comey admitted the White House can receive information that has been unmasked, but he refused to say if the White House was briefed on the General Flynn information.
Trey Gowdy asked about the surveillance of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, in conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, but his response was again vague.
“I’m not gonna comment on those particular articles, because I don’t want to in any circumstance compound the criminal act by confirming that it was classified information,” Comey said. “But in general, yes, it’s a serious crime, and it should be.”
Comey picks and chooses what he will discuss. Since Jeff Sessions has recused himself, Comey received permission to make the announcement about the Russian-Trump campaign investigation from the second-in-command, an Obama appointee.
He disavowed Trump’s tweets, however, he was careful to say the “FBI” did not have evidence of “wiretapping”. He only speaks for the “FBI” and we no longer “wiretap” so what did he actually say? The FBI is obviously surveilling people tied to Trump.
Comey’s an oddball.
While it wasn’t clear yesterday, there is no evidence that Trump colluded with President Putin or Russia in any way.
