Opposition leaders Leopoldo Lopez and Antonio Ledezma have been taken from their homes by Maduro’s forces. They were both under house arrest. Before the vote Sunday, which gave Maduro unlimited powers, Maduro made a big splash over his support for freeing Mr. Lopez. That was a few weeks before the vote, but the day after the vote, he had him taken by force from his home.
Both Lopez and Ledezma, the mayor of Caracas, called for Venezuelans to take to the streets to protest the vote.
As of Sunday, Maduro is all-powerful. His new assembly of minions will re-write the Constitution and make him the supreme ruler of what will be the new Cuba in the hemisphere.
Prior to the vote, President Nicolas Maduro pledged to use the virtually unlimited powers of the new assembly to go after political foes, saying he will jail opposition lawmakers.

Maduro made clear in a televised address last Saturday evening that he intends to use the assembly to govern without limitation, describing the vote as “the election of a power that’s above and beyond every other. It’s the super power!”

The leftists are tweeting that it had nothing to do with socialism, but it has everything to do with the Socialist policies. Venezuela traded free speech for free healthcare, freedom of enterprise for free college, a free press for social justice. It can happen here. If Trump can’t turn things around, this is where the United States is headed.
If you don’t know what is going on in Venezuela, this brief clip will help explain.

As an aside to all this, the U.K. faces some serious problems with leader Jeremy Corbyn, the communist who is trying to thwart Prime Minister May and bring his corrupt legions to power. He’s an admirer and good ally of Maduro’s.
