Flashback on How Barack Obama Handles Natural Disasters

President Trump and First Lady Melania have been attacked over the last few days despite the fact that Trump has handled the disaster exceptionally well. Today the biggest issue was Melania’s stilettos.

This response calls attention to the hypocrisy of the left who didn’t mind Barack Obama’s incompetence handling the Louisiana floods last year. They weren’t as severe as this storm of course but they were bad and he ignored them.

When Louisiana was hit with disastrous floods in August, 2016, little was made of Barack Obama’s response in the media though it was described as the worst natural disaster since Sandy. At least 13 people died, while another 85,000 registered for disaster aid.

“Thousands of people in Louisiana have lost everything they own and need our help now,” said Brad Kieserman, the Red Cross’ vice president of disaster services operations and logistics.

“This disaster is the worst to hit the United States since Superstorm Sandy, and we anticipate it will cost at least $30 million…”

Barack Obama vacationed in Martha’s Vineyard and held a fundraiser while the floods went on. Barack attended a $33,000 a plate dinner, squeezed in between a number of 18 hole strolls. FLOTUS Michelle was somewhere in New Jersey.

That was while the state had a Republican governor, Bobby Jindal.

When President George W. Bush appeared to have reacted too slowly during Katrina, Barack Obama was merciless. He ignored the ineffective help by the mayor and the governor on New Orleans probably because they were Democrats.

Instead, he went after the Republican president who was somewhat removed from this at the time. Americans at that time didn’t expect the federal government to be first in line to provide help.

The mayor and then the governor were expected to handle the situation and the federal government became involved when asked. As it turned out, the mayor had been diverting federal funds meant for levees to his favorite vote-getting agenda items.

President Trump spent ten days preparing for the storm and is visiting Corpus Christi and Austin with FLOTUS, Dr. Carson, Linda McMahon and others.

His daughter Ivanka sent out a message of love and got the typical responses from the left.

Here are a sample of the responses she received.

Texas is getting everything they need according to Governor Abbott.
