Gen. Michael Flynn, former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), appeared on Fox News Sunday today to discuss the threat the world faces from radical Islam. He said the U.S. does not have an effective coherent strategy to deal with radical Islam.
The White House is very confused about what the problem is, he believes. He wants to see Congress and the White House work together to come up with a solution.
We need to stop talking about “tipping points” and “turning points” – we’ve seen many of them – and recognize this cancerous form of radical Islam that is disturbing the order of Arab states. These Arab nations are all at risk and need to come together. He believes a union of Arab states should be formed “to get to this moderate form of Islam if it exists”.
We recently heard, he said, about 126 Muslim scholars crying out about radical Islam, why only 126, why isn’t is 126,000, he asked. More Arab leaders need to step up to the plate, he concluded.
The cancer spreading throughout the world is an evil inside the religion of Islam, he said more than once.
Flynn, a highly-regarded, plain spoken professional, was mischaracterized by the micromanagers in the administration as “disruptive” when he was summarily fired.
In an August 2014 interview with James Kitfield for Breaking Defense, Kitfield asked Flynn, “Have you ever seen so many crises occurring simultaneously?”
Flynn responded saying, “No. I come into this office every morning, and other than a short jog to clear my head, I spend two to three hours reading intelligence reports. I will frankly tell you that what I see each day is the most uncertain, chaotic and confused international environment that I’ve witnessed in my entire career….”
Our administration believes that as long as it’s not WW II, we shouldn’t “over-inflate” the threat.
Flynn warned, “…in 2004, there were 21 total Islamic terrorist groups spread out in 18 countries. Today, there are 41 Islamic terrorist groups spread out in 24 countries. A lot of these groups have the intention to attack Western interests, to include Western embassies and in some cases Western countries. Some have both the intention and some capability to attack the United States homeland.”
What General Flynn sees is a “cancerous component of the Islamic religion” which is fanatically against our way of life and “has declared war on us.”
What Mr. Obama sees is a nuisance in his global war on capitalism and climate change.
General Flynn said we shouldn’t be comparing religions, we should be considering “the greater good” and fighting this evil and “this evil exists inside of this religion”.
General Flynn compared the United States to a football team: the Quarterback is at the huddle and says “ready, break”, the team steps off the line and is supposed to move down the field in a synchronized way to the goal line to win, but he feels like when we say, “ready, break”, all the players that are on the team go off to play into different stadiums, playing different sports.
We know Mr. Obama can identify problems he thinks exist and he can fight for the solutions he wants. He’s done it repeatedly on illegal immigration, climate change, EPA regulations, coal, taxes, war on women, class warfare, treaties that surrender a “pinch” of our sovereignty, and so on.
Obama is not unaware. He’s very aware. He is doing what he wants to do. His actions show us what he believes and where he is leading us.
