George Santos Expelled!

The privileged vote to expel George Santos ended in an expulsion by an overwhelming majority of Republicans and Democrats.

Here’s the vote via Jake Sherman:

I don’t know how the readers feel. To me, it was stupid. It sets a dangerous precedent. Santos was not convicted of anything. He did not have due process, which Democrats hate anyway, and was convicted based on a report by Democrats and RINOs.

Why do this and then give Democrats another opportunity to vote for a Democrat? Republicans have such a small margin as it is. If only they’d be as enthusiastic about impeaching some of the criminals in the administration or closing our borders.

Miranda Devine makes a good point here:

Gov. Hochul said she’d be “happy” to schedule a special election to fill Santos’ seat. If that wasn’t a red flag for any GOP member, especially those elected recently on Red Long Island, they’ll likely pay a price. The Dems can pick a guy with big Nassau County name recognition, like Tom Suozzi, lefties outside the state will flood the race with $. If that CD is flipped the Republicans will be down to a 2 seat majority, and good luck to those local GOP pols trying to get reelected in 2024.

George Santos had a better voting record than the NY RINOs who fiercely pushed for his expulsion. If they used that same intense vitriol they used to oust Santos and instead went after the corrupt left, I might be more supportive of Santos getting expelled. This leaves the door open for a Democrat to replace him. Something very suspicious about this move.

I don’t care about power. I think they shouldn’t have because it is unethical and unjust. We live in a moronic time. Are these guys serious?
