NBC aired a Hillary Clinton for president infomercial disguised as a report promoted by NBC’s favorite anchor, Maria Shiver. NBC didn’t bother to mention that the Soros-funded Center for American Progress funded the report.
“The Shriver Report: A Woman’s Nation Pushes Back From the Brink” shamelessly promotes the far far-left Soros women’s causes that will be used to propel Hillary Clinton into the White House. It’s more of the war on women and Hispanic women with special recognition for Obama as sympathetic to working women.
In addition to a TV promotion, The Shriver Report is a free e-book that marks the 50th anniversary of Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty. It’s really not about President Johnson, it’s about electing Hillary Clinton, the first woman president.
Maria Shriver, NBC anchor and a far-left Kennedy scion
The book includes essays by far far-left notables such as Beyoncé Knowles, Eva Longoria and Sister Chittister.
Beyoncé wrote a couple paragraphs about gender equality being a myth. She is married to rapper Jay-Z who makes a living denigrating women as “bitches” and “ho’s.” One of the more humorous things she says: “We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life.”
Maria Shriver’s chapter is on the power of the single mother: “We women can exert real pressure on our government to change course on many of the issues we care about and deliver on what women need now to rise up from the brink. Isn’t it strange, for instance, that the United States is the only industrialized nation without mandatory paid maternity leave?”
That will be another right – the right to receive pay for staying home after having a baby.
Shriver’s solution to everything is more government and more freebies.
Neera Tanden wrote one of the essays. She is the Chief Operating Officer for the Center for American Progress. She worked with Kathleen Sebelius on Obamacare and with the White House healthcare team. She also worked as a campaign director to Hillary Clinton. Because of her “amazing boss”, Hillary Clinton, she was able to work out a flexible schedule and spend time with her children.
The wonderful Hillary changed her schedule so Tanden could go to her son’s graduation.
Sister Joan Chittister, a favorite of the far far-left, is a nun who thinks abortion is a choice and religion is to blame for female poverty.
Like I said, she’s a bad nun.
The good Sister said women “are still one class of people who are set apart, separated, and given less value and worth by multiple religious traditions.”
It is religion and society that have kept women poor, denying the “human race” the “fullness of their female gifts.” Because of policy, promoted by religion, women make up two-thirds of the world’s poor and “lack access to resources and recognition men take for granted,” according to the Sister.
She wrote that “what our churches, mosques, synagogues, and faith communities teach and do about women become the morality of the land. What they do not say or do on behalf of women condones what becomes the immorality of the land.” She then goes on to blame rapes on religion.
Anyone who suspects the Catholic church has been infiltrated by leftists is probably onto something. Catholic colleges and universities have been a feeding ground for Marxists.
The report puts single mothers on a pedestal. Leftists helped increase the numbers of single mothers and now they want to help them in their plight as single mothers. It’s more of the self-perpetuating cycle of failure that leftists like to establish. Their policies for single mothers have never worked but that won’t stop them from promoting the same policies over and over.
The book is replete with errors. For instance, it rages on about the 77 cent wage disparity between men and women that has been continuously debunked. In fact, The Labor Department has put the wage gap at 87 cents on the dollar for full-time employment but when it comes to men and women working 30 to 34 hours, women earn 109 percent of what men earn.
I hope women aren’t stupid enough to fall for this phony war on women again and propel another bad candidate into the White House. The same leftists who can’t pander to women and single mothers enough, could care less about the women in the Middle East and Africa who are being brutalized and murdered by men for simply being women.
The one thing Republicans need to take away from this is that Leftists are already building the Hillary for president campaign with a report they tend to continually update. Republicans need to get started with their own reports directed at important voting blocs.
