Hillary Lies Her Way Through Her Speech on the Economy

Hillary Clinton tried to say she passed a treaty reducing the threat of nukes from Russia today during her speech on the economy.

Huh? What?

She’s taking credit for Obama’s New START treaty that did nothing. The treaty does not require either side to destroy nuclear weapons or reduce their nuclear stockpile, and it doesn’t place limits on shorter-range nuclear weapons.

Also, Russia was below the limit for deployed strategic nuclear warheads when the treaty took effect in 2011, and it has increased them since then. So there hasn’t even been a reduction in Russia’s deployed strategic nuclear warheads under the agreement.

This is what she said — she doesn’t care if anything is true as long as she gets the soundbites out there:

“It is how we rebuilt New York after 9/11. So I am convinced based on my experience that we can do this. One of the reasons I asked Tim Kaine to be my running mate is he is a record of working across the aisle to get things done as a mayor, governor, and to bring together leaders from across the economy, from a lot of different places to talk about jobs and competitiveness. We need the best ideas that are out there making a difference. We need to pull together. The bottom-line is this. I am running for president to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.

[Applause] Based on what we know from the trump campaign, he once — wants Americans to work for him and his friends at the top. He has offered nothing on student loans of the cost of description drugs, nothing for farmers or struggling rural communities. Nothing to build a new future with clean energy and advance agriculture.”

She did two things as New York Senator. She named a post office and voted in a historical site.

She wants to overturn Citizens United because that is a free speech case directly involving her. A movie unflattering to her was banned because she wanted it banned. The Supreme Court ruled political speech, movies included, are free speech.

This is what she said about it:

And let’s remember, Citizens United, one of the worst Supreme Court decisions in our country’s history, was actually a case about a right-wing attack on me and my campaign. A right-wing organization took aim at me and ended up damaging our entire democracy. So, yes, you’re not going to find anybody more committed to aggressive campaign finance reform than me.

The government argued in the Citizen’s United case that they could not only ban film but ban books if they disagree with the content. And that’s not what America is about.

She talked about the economy mostly but she has a history of being unsuccessful on “building” an economy that works and creates jobs. In fact, her program is a small business demolition works. She is claiming she will create 10 million jobs in the first year.

When she was senator, she claimed she would create 200,000 jobs upstate New York where they were struggling to keep the jobs they had. Jobs were lost under her reign. She babbled about voter rights again.
