How Seattle Hopes to Destroy Gun Ownership

seattle gun stockWe can’t ignore the anti-constitutional laws being passed by individual cities and states because they spread like a cancer and the most effective banes will be used by other states. They are meant of course to incrementally destroy the Second Amendment.

Like Connecticut, Seattle is taxing guns and ammo heavily and that will only get worse. They saw it work with tobacco.

The city council includes a communist and former Occupier Kshama Sawant who is actually a communist as I found out at the Left Forum conference I attended in the summer where I go to spy.

She has helped turn Seattle into a Capitalist hunting ground.

Seattle has a statue of Lenin in their main square. Maybe it represents them well.

Seattle is looking to make as much as $500,000 each year in revenue from taxing to “prevent gun violence.”

Cook County, Illinois imposed gun sales taxes but their gun violence continues to escalate.

A King County Superior Court judge okayed the tax because it’s a tax, not a gun control measure. It’s similar to what the statists did with Obamacare. It was a tax when it suited them and not a tax when it suited them but the goal was the same – push it through against the will of the people.

The NRA and Second Amendment advocacy groups fought the case.

Under the law, called the “gun violence tax,” gun and ammo sales in Seattle are subject to a tax of $25 per firearm at sale and $0.05 for every round of ammunition at sale ($0.02 for every round of .22 caliber ammunition and smaller).

A related law which requires gun owners to report a lost or stolen firearm within 24 hours is already in effect in Seattle. Gun owners in Seattle who fail to report lost or stolen firearms can be slapped with a $500 civil penalty. Under federal law, firearms businesses holding a federal license, must report lost or stolen guns but not individual gun owners.

  • This is how socialism restricts your freedom. There was no vote by the people before this was imposed. You asked for this Seattle, now fix it!
