Iranians Guaranteed to Have the Bomb Without a Verification System

Amb. Bolton

Former Ambassador John Bolton believes someone needs to bomb Iran or they will have a bomb at a time of their choosing.

Negotiations with Iran have gone on for 12 years and we still don’t have a deal with them. “You know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result,” Bolton said.

Iran has never come up with an acceptable verification system, and no deal is going to work without one. We have to know what they are doing.

President Obama believes Iran only has to be convinced we are not going to threaten them.

The Arab states don’t want Iran to have nuclear weapons which is why, though they won’t admit in public, they would welcome a pre-emptive Israeli strike on Iran, Bolton said.

One of the biggest problems coming out of these talks is that there appears to be an inadequate verification system. In fact, some Iranian facilities are not included in the inspection agreement.

Ambassador Dennis Ross is the William Davidson Distinguished Fellow and counselor at The Washington Institute. He served in various prestigious roles under the Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Obama administrations.

He said that he believes the verification system is the key because a one-year breakout is meaningless if we don’t know what they are doing and when they are doing it.

The Iranians need to allow surprise inspections and inspections of all facilities.

Not much chance that will happen.
