Jeffrey Lord Fired by CNN Over His Battle with Media Matters President

Angelo Carusone

CNN fired conservative Trump supporter Jeffrey Lord who has been in a Twitter fight with the far-left Media Matters President Angelo Carusone. The organization has deep ties to George Soros and other deep–pocketed leftists.

Carusone and Lord were arguing about Media Matters being a Soros-tied organization. Carusone called Lord a liar and said they took one donation one time in 2010.

Media Matters’ and George Soros’s ties aren’t only about money. They are on the same page ideologically and work closely together against the right if one looks at the evidence.

Lord wrote a follow-up column for The American Spectator on Thursday morning titled, Fascist Media Matters Moves to Silence Hannity, and in it, Lord called Carusone’s group the “Media Matters Fascists,” casting them as “anti-free speech bigots who, in typical fascist style, make it their mission to shut down speech they don’t like.”

Media Matters has been promoting an ad boycott against Fox News host Sean Hannity, a friend of Lord’s.

Lord said Carusone was playing a “fascist game” by targeting Hannity’s sponsors, and said Media Matters has been doing it for years against other conservatives.

In the article, Carusone quoted from an AP article quoting Carusone, who said, His [Hannity’s] Fox show “really has moved beyond just being a conservative viewpoint to state-aligned disinformation and propaganda,” said Angelo Carusone, Media Matters president. “If we don’t do it now, Hannity will only get worse.”

Lord continued: “Who died and left Media Matters, George Soros, and MMF honchos David Brock and Angelo Carusone in charge of free speech in America? As always with fascists, these thugs are out to terrorize sponsors, Sean Hannity’s sponsors in this case, into not buying ads on a television and/or radio show.”

Media Matters has in the past gone after Glenn Beck and seriously harmed Bill O’Reilly. They went after their advertisers, threatening and bullying them.

Lord tweeted his column at Carusone who tweeted back, “Your headline has a mistake in it.” Carusone asked, “Why do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you don’t take yourself seriously.”

Lord, mocking what he believes is Carusone’s fascism, tweeted “Sieg Heil”.

That ginned up the loons with serious problems of reading comprehension and critical thinking. They trashed Lord all over social media. It got him fired.

“Nazi salutes are indefensible,” a CNN spokesperson said in a statement. “Jeffrey Lord is no longer with the network.”

Lord said his tweet was misunderstood. He said he was mocking fascists, not acting like one.

“I love CNN, but I feel they are caving to bullies here,” he said in a telephone interview shortly after the network’s decision was announced.

Of course Lord was mocking Media Matters and CNN knew it. CNN will be able to fool the dopes out there with their excuse that the words, “Sieg Heil”,  got him fired, but most of us realize it was merely a comeback to a person he believes to be a Fascist.

Media Matters has repeatedly condemned Lord and criticized CNN for employing him as a commentator.

Media Matters won again. That’s what really happened.
