A jury has reached a verdict Wednesday in the sex trafficking trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend and close associate of the wealthy convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The verdict will be read in court shortly.

The jury, which is made up of six women and six men, deliberated for about 40 hours over six days.

A Manhattan federal court jury found 60-year-old Ghislaine Maxwell guilty of several charges relating to sex trafficking of a minor on Wednesday.

Maxwell was the girlfriend of convicted pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, and prosecutors were able to convince a jury that she aided the billionaire in locating his teenage victims from 1994 to about 2004. She was accused of recruiting and grooming the girls for Epstein, with most of the evidence consisting of testimony from four victims.

She faces a maximum of sixty-five years in prison but is more likely to get closer to 30 years.

I don’t get it. Maxwell is guilty of trafficking underage girls, but no one has been charged with assaulting the girls, Jonathan Turley just said, “It’s like convicting the getaway driver and not the bank robbers.”
