Unconfirmed but believed to be Esteban Santiago.

The shooter in the Hollywood airport in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is Esteban Santiago who was carrying a military ID. He killed five people and shot thirteen including the five he murdered. Santiago is known as a petty criminal but the motive for this shooting is unknown.

He had possibly taken a flight that originated in Anchorage and checked a gun which he removed from his luggage after the plane landed. Santiago loaded it in a bathroom and came out shooting randomly. The gun was in the baggage according to law enforcement.

He reloaded at least once.

KVIA-TV reported that the shooting occurred inside Terminal 2, which hosts Delta Air Lines and Air Canada.

“People started kind of screaming and trying to get out of any door they could or hide under the chairs,” a witness, Mark Lea, told MSNBC. “He just kind of continued coming in, just randomly shooting at people, no rhyme or reason to it.”

Lea told the network that the shooter used a handgun with three magazines of ammunition and “went up and down the carousels of the baggage claim, shooting through luggage to get at people that were hiding.”

He shot people in the head.

The gunman then tossed down the gun and “lay spread-eagle on the ground,” reported MSNBC.

It is believed he shot people who were on the same plane he took.

Police are questioning the killer. The airport is shut down. Police are checking a garage in an adjoining terminal after reports of a second shooting. That is believed to be inaccurate.

Pete Williams of NBC News reported that the shooter allegedly “had mental health issues, and reported hearing voices.”

Most eyewitnesses said he never spoke but one person thought he heard him say “I’m not Jewish.”

Reports say he is or was a US Army soldier, a combat engineer who received a general discharge from the National Guard about four months ago for unsatisfactory performance.  He was stationed in Alaska and might have caught the plane in Anchorage. Law enforcement said he is 26 years old and lives in New Jersey. His family is from Puerto Rico.

According to NBC Washington, “Alaskan court records show an Esteban Santiago with the same date of birth was charged with two misdemeanors last year; one count was dismissed and Santiago was due back in court on the second this coming March.”

One charge was assault and another was a domestic assault that was dropped.

The Daily Beast reported that he “lived in Anchorage, Alaska from 2014 to 2016.”

CNN lightened Santiago’s skin in a photo they published. Media is reporting that he is a white Hispanic.

Update: This is the wrong man and CNN did not post this photo. We apologize for posting this!

The following is video taken in the terminal.

This is the graphic video so be forewarned.

So far the FBI does not believe it’s terrorism.

WeSearchr on twitter claims they found him and he has ties to the jihad, having downloaded Islamic jihadi videos in 2007. This needs verification before we can’t post his photo. Update: It’s been verified, so here it is.

Others believe they found him, one is a man holding a gun at the person shooting his photo but we can’t post without confirmation.
