A war contractor who claimed President Trump’s controversial travel ban caused his mother to die in Iraq lied about the circumstance.

Shocker!

Hager claimed he was the only one of his family members allowed through at the border, and his mother, stranded at the Iraqi airport, passed away the next day, according to WJBK-TV.

“They destroyed us,” Hager said in a now discredited interview. “I went with my family. I came back by myself. They destroyed our family.”

He’s referring to the travel ban affecting immigration from the seven countries of concern first selected by Barack Obama, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia.

As it turns out, Hager’s mother had kidney disease and was receiving treatment in Michigan – where she lived – before traveling to Iraq to visit family. The Imam said she passed away on January 22, 2017, five days before President Trump instituted the travel ban.

She died before the ban.

The Imam, who voted for Trump, did not want to address the general unrest over the travel ban or the weekend chaos for travelers and protesters at the airports. Instead, he called for peace and patience.

Fox 2 was able to obtain a Facebook post from his account last month that memorializes his mother on January 22. The post has since been deleted.

When confronted by Fox2, he said, Earlier when confronted via text about his lie, Mike wrote “Since I lost my mom I’ve been on heavy medication – I can’t even sleep. I did not make anything up.”

He didn’t make anything up?

His lie made all complaints look false. People double check stories like that.

The worst part of this is the MSM broadcast this story worldwide without checking a story that was easily checked. Simply looking at his Facebook page would have uncovered the truth before they posted the story.
