Update information about Rodney Hinton Jr. on this link.

A Cincinnati police officer shot and killed a black man who came out between two dumpsters holding a gun aimed at him. In fear for his life, the officer shot and killed the man, Ryan Hinton, 18. Ryan was one of four suspects in a stolen car. Ryan’s father, Rodney Hinton Jr., wants the police held accountable, even after he allegedly murdered an officer the next day after viewing the bodycam footage, not the one who shot him, but a retired officer assisting a traffic detail.

Police were responding to a report of a stolen car. The vehicle was allegedly stolen from northern Kentucky earlier Thursday morning. The entire shooting took only six seconds.

The Story

The next day, Ryan Hintons’ father, Rodney, 38, ran over one of the Ohio officers on a traffic detail and killed him. The officer was recently retired and was just helping out.

Hinton ran over the officer right after he watched the bodycam footage of his son’s shooting. Rodney is charged with aggravated murder.

The officer wasn’t identified due to privacy protections.

“He was so well-liked and so well-known, we could fill this building with the law enforcement agencies that respect him, love him, his friends, his family,” Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey said at the briefing. “We are so deeply saddened.”

According to Police Chief Theresa Theetge, two officers in police vehicles responded to the area to apprehend the four people in the car. When approached by Police, all four began to run, some in different directions, prompting the two officers to pursue Hinton and another individual.

“Get the f— down,” the officer said afterward. Theetge said she believes Ryan was hit by two bullets, in the chest and the arm.

Footage from the second officer’s body camera shows the officer running toward the first officer and the 18-year-old while warning fellow officers that someone is armed.

Hinton was armed, Theetge said.

“He’s got a gun! He’s got a gun on your right! On your right!” the officer could be heard saying.

The gun was retrieved, and a second magazine was found in his jacket pocket.

Clarification: Rodney Hinton killed an officer, not the one who shot his son.

It is hard to keep all the stories straight about black on white violence. It is a full time just just to keep track of it all.

Must have got the story from AP they never get it correct. The sheriff deputy was ran over. The Cincinnati police shot the thug son. Funny they are not releasing the identity of the deputy. Must be white and don’t want to admit hate crime, that won’t be filed. AG Yost is as weak as governor DeSwine.

Not in Ohio our governor is a weak trerp . His ugly wife has his ball in a box. He doesn’t believe in the death penalty. So cops better get used to being eliminated by thugs in Ohio.

So how long before the democrats run to his aid or the ACLU claims the old man was distraught due to the racist cop shooting his son. They will say the old man had pent up rage from 400 years of slavery and snapped. If you believe the lie you become a victim of it. Maybe if the old man… Read more »

Do you know why cops carry a badge? The badge represents a shield. The shield is to protect us, the law abiding, from those who would do us harm. That shield reminds us all that any of us can fall and sin against others. We need that check or we fall to the way of Cain. Sure, like any man… Read more »
