Martin O’Malley, presidential hopeful and pandering apologist, has joined Barack Obama in the fight to take our guns.
The 59-year old madman who killed two innocent women this past week in a Louisiana movie theater has spurred a new fight against the Second Amendment.
In an interview with the bbc, the great transformer, Barack Obama, expressed his frustration with not getting “common sense” gun laws passed.
He is not done with the Second Amendment yet. In fact, Loretta Lynch announced that there will be a host of new gun control fiats.
Mr. Obama said gun control was the area where he has been “most frustrated and most stymied” since coming to power in 2009 (that’s how the bbc referred to it – as coming to power).
“If you look at the number of Americans killed since 9/11 by terrorism, it’s less than 100. If you look at the number that have been killed by gun violence, it’s in the tens of thousands,” Mr Obama said.
Mr. Obama failed to mention that the overwhelming majority of shootings occur in urban areas with strict gun laws by criminals who don’t obey those laws.
Martin O’Malley, photo above, looking for his path to the White House, after just having bombed by blaming ISIS on the weather, demanded Congress change gun laws immediately in a new op-ed in the Boston Globe..
His solution for stopping the so-called “full-blown epidemic” of mass shootings is to limit the sale of guns to legal gun owners.
The reforms in Maryland which he is so proud of infringe on the Second Amendment and include required licensing, fingerprinting, background checks, and safety training. Under his guidance, Maryland lawmakers banned so-called assault weapons and limited the size of magazines. If a firearm is lost or stolen and not immediately reported to law enforcement, the gun owner becomes an immediate felon.
Gun owners are robbed of their right to self-defense because of the strict rules governing storage of guns in the home.
His goal in Maryland was to reduce mass shootings and keep guns out of the hands of criminals, yet his city of Baltimore, with its strict gun control, has been named by Forbes as the 7th most dangerous city in the nation. Baltimore has been breaking its own city’s murder rate. Two days ago, 7 were shot and 2 died.
In New York, the tough gun laws haven’t stopped the rising murder rate.
The Washington Times reviewed gun crimes and gun control laws in 2013 and found no linkage between stricter rules and lower crime rates.
Honduras has 21 times the gun murders we do and 14 times fewer guns as only one example.
As far as “common sense” is concerned, many of the mass shootings in the U.S. are committed by illegal guns. In the case of the Charleston shooter, the FBI made several errors that led to the killer, a felon, being able to buy a gun.
We have gun regulations that are not being enforced. Police are often frustrated by judges who quickly release the gun violators they arrest.
The murder of five soldiers by a terrorist in Chattanooga was committed in a gun free zone where military personnel were not allowed to carry guns. The Charleston and Sandy Hook shootings were in gun free zones.
The Lafayette, Louisiana, Grand Theatre–site of the tragic July 23 attack in which a gunman killed two, wounded at least seven others, then took his own life–is a gun free zone.
According to the “Conduct Policy” for all Grand Theatre locations, the “possession of firearms or weapons of any kind” are completely banned and the ban applies regardless of whether the firearm or weapon is carried “openly or concealed, with or without a permit.”
The goal of gun control is in reality meant to eventually eliminate guns and abolish the Second Amendment.
